The older brother swallowed but tried not to let his nerves show on his face. “I’ll be fine.” He said, adjusting his bag strap again. He tried to smile more at Gwen’s nervous and disbelieving stare. “Really, don’t worry about it. I’ll just go to the neighbors if it gets to be too much.”
Albert Shaw had always opened his door to offer a safe place for Finney Blake, but the older man struggled with a rather inappropriate crush on the young teen. It certainly doesn't help the man's possessive desires when Robin Arellano decides to take an opportunity to act on his own crush for Finney.

Qui-Gon was doing nothing wrong in denying Obi-Wan the attention and validation he so craved, and Obi-Wan knows it is a weakness to dote on Anakin the way he does. To spend the entire year leading up to his thirteenth birthday buying him gifts each time he was off-world, seeing every marketplace through the lens of Anakin’s desires. There was a spike of guilt each time he did it—but he did it all the same. Justified the act of collecting things to give Anakin by reminding himself that the thirteenth birthday is a weighty ritual, it deserves more thought than Qui-Gon gave it all those years ago.
