Summary
Wet hair plastered to his forehead, Charles stares up at him through heavy-lidded eyes. “You care about me, don’t you, Erik?” he says, affection evident in his voice.
Erik blinks, doing his best to ignore how warm he is around the ears. “Of course. You’re all I’ve got.”
Charles grins, happily squirming around a little on the bed. “Come closer. I’ve got to tell you something.” He beckons Erik closer. Once Erik leans in, Charles tells him in a slurred whisper, “I love you.”
Erik freezes. A flurry of indecipherable thoughts float through his head. Once he remembers how to form words again, he says quietly, “You’re drunk, Charles.”

She glowered at him. “It’s called Would You Rather and it’s a Muggle game, you prat.”
He made a one-arm gesture of acceptance. “Fine, Granger. Would you rather…” He assessed her then smirked. “Have someone use their hands to give you a back massage or an orgasm?”
She got the sense he expected her to blush at the word. She stared at him, frustration mounting that he was being so juvenile and making their project take longer than it needed to.
“Can’t decide?” He quipped when she was still staring at him.
“Back massage,” she snapped. “I can’t do that myself.”
He chuckled. “Can’t do either of them yourself, but perhaps you’re too pure to know that. Pity not in the way that matters.”
Now she looked up. “What?”

This is the story of how their relationship began, with all its silent negotiations and quiet denials. This is the story of how the silence came apart after the Reichenbach fall. This is the story of how Sherlock returned from the fall, and how he and John put things back together again, in quite a different way than before. This is also the story of Mycroft and Sherrinford--we all know that third Holmes brother is out there somewhere--and also other canon characters, though some have changed a bit since Sir Arthur's day.
This is a story about loneliness and fate. This is a story about parents and brothers. This is a story about cocaine and Shepherd's Pie. This is a story about London, and Los Angeles, and Afghanistan. This is a story about love. Also, sex. There's quite a lot of that. This is a story with a happy ending, though at times it will make you sad.
This is the Sherlock and John story I've been wanting to tell for a very long time. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.
