Summary
After stumbling upon a flyer for a shared apartment, a depressed Jonathan leaves home in the hopes of finding peace. When he discovers who the other tenant is, he considers leaving—but remaining changes things in his life.
As he studied Steve, he noticed something was different. Something about him had changed. Whether it was maturity, he couldn’t tell—but things weren’t as he remembered. For one, he looked worn out, like life had finally caught up to him. The confident sparkle in his eyes was no longer there—instead, it was replaced with something else. Something darker. Hurt. That alone was easy enough for Jonathan to identify.
Even though his instincts screamed at him to pull away—something else, something he couldn’t suppress—urged him to stay. Jonathan couldn’t decipher what it was. Desperation, empathy, or perhaps a sense of longing. Because when the two of them made eye contact, Jonathan found that outwardly, they were no different.

Summary
Steve Harrington is aching to know what Jonathan Byers has been up to. Jonathan could not care less. Steve takes the risk and acts on a sarcastic offer from his former rival to move east and live with him in his off-campus apartment in NYC. The jaded film student is unenthused to see the piece of shit show up on his doorstep, but quickly realizes that a hot, friendly guy who is willing to do pretty much anything for his attention in the name of friendship and reconciliation is a great photo subject. Steve yearns for something more from Jon, but he can't put his finger on what kind of bond it is that he wants. Tension rises like a flood in the cramped suite.

Summary
A month after the party had defeated Vecna and prevented the end of the world, things had mostly gone back to normal. Steve, Jonathan, Robin and Nancy had been hanging out a lot since then, sometimes with the rest of the party and sometimes without. So it wasn't strange that Jonathan and Steve had been becoming closer lately. Jonathan still didn't like Steve much. He didn't like his excessive amount of confidence, he didn't like his smile; the way his lips parted to reveal a perfect row of white teeth. And he really didn't like the weird feeling he got in his stomach whenever he saw Steve.
Basically, Jonathan Byers is falling for Steve Harrington but is too stupid to realise. Meanwhile, Steve's already fallen for Jonathan but is trying really hard to pretend he hasn't. Robin needs smarter friends.
