Albus is quiet for a moment, considering his words. “However, he was not their only option.” Severus opens his mouth to tell him to get on with it but Albus holds up a hand, silencing him. “As a secondary choice, in the rare chance something would happen to Sirius… which has unfortunately happened… Lily Potter has chosen you, Severus, to be the godfather.”
