"Let me look at you, darling." It wasn't a mere request; despite Nightmare's resistance, the magical chains pulled him closer to his captor with a single, compelling tug.
As his brother neared, the heat radiating from Dream stilled Nightmare's writhing and dissolved his struggle against the ethereal bonds. Fear transformed him into a trembling statue of stone, his SOUL pulsating in a rhythmic staccato within his chest, as if attempting to escape through his throat, rendering him breathless.
This was it, the moment he anticipated as his death knell. There seemed to be no other outcome.
All his futile struggling amounted to nothing. How pitiful.
Finally and inevitably, Nightmare is caught by Dream.

In the hushed atmosphere, Dream's teeth brushed against the edge of his acoustic meatus, oddly sending a shiver down his spine. "Never doubt, my dear brother," the Guardian purred, the velvety timbre of his voice resonating with a promise that held a subtle undercurrent of possessive ardor. His breath, warm and reassuring, mingled with the night air.
"I won't let anyone take you away. You're mine," Dream declared, his voice a soft caress carrying a possessive fervor that gleamed in the depths of his bright eyes. The words lingered in the air, each syllable heavy with an unspoken promise, a tapestry woven with threads of protection and threats of unspoken violence.
Dream is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure his brother's happiness. Turning back the clock and taking care of him properly is just the best way... probably.

The unexpected sight of damaged and uneven feathers drew his brother's attention, sparking curiosity.
During the chaos of flight and combat, such imperfections remained elusive, especially when Nightmare's focus was fixated on finding an escape route. However, in this moment of stillness, the damaged plumage was impossible to overlook.

Killer leaned back against the cold stone behind him, enraptured by the performance set out before him. He had always been captivated by Nightmare to a degree, drawn to him like a moth to a flame—but this was different. This was a display, a moment of expression and artistry. Something to be witnessed and consumed.
It was probably too romantic of a sentiment—but Killer was happy to be Nightmare's audience for as long as he could.
For forever, if only his King would allow it.
