Summary
Lo'ak is okay being less liked then his siblings, it still hurts of course, but there is someone who makes him feel okay. Spider, while technically not his brother, is all he needs. They are like two sides of a coin. Being able to take care of Spider as an older brother made him happy and Spider is happy to have someone care for him. But when something (or someone) is treating to take Spider away from him he'll have to give it his all to protect the person dearest to him.

He swallows, mouth suddenly very dry.“You have 10 seconds to explain. Who are you, and where are you from? Who are you with?”
Spider squeezes his eyes shut and sends a brief prayer up to anyone who might be listening. “My name is– My name’s Spider. I’m from the other side of the mountains, near the Anurai clan. I’m not with anyone, I swear.” He swallows. “I left my clan almost a year ago. I’ve been alone. I am alone.”
He cracks an eye open, trying to gauge the reaction of the other.“Spider? What the hell kind of name is Spider?” The Na’vi balks, and Spider wants to laugh.

The noise was loud too - shouting, and a thunderous chopping in the air. At that moment, fear ran through him like an icy drip. He knew that sound.

Summary
When Ao'nung presented as an omega, he was all-but abandoned by his entire tribe, their disappointment of his presentation following him with every step he took. He was scorned by the Metkayina due to not being the alpha the entire clan wanted him to be, even his parents turning away from him. In turn, he grew to hate alphas and everything they stood for.
When tensions with the Omatikaya began to rise, Ao'nung was promised to one of Toruk Makto’s sons to bridge the growing rift between the tribes. He hated the presence of the Suli family, hated how his feelings were dismissed in the pairing arranged by his father without his input. He hated the alpha who sought to take him away from his home but more than that, Ao'nung began to hate how the presence of the Suli’s forced him to rethink the way he had grown up and how his trauma altered his view of the world around him.
Ao'nung had spent his entire life hating alphas but, perhaps the eldest Suli son could help him not just heal from the pain and betrayal he’d endured, but truly show him the beauty of the world that had turned against him.

“Do you know who I am?” The boy shook his head. “I’m Jake, Jake Sully.”
Oh. He paused his eating. That name was familiar too. The words Olo'Eyktan and Turok Makto trickled into his mind. He had no idea what they meant.
“Do you know who you are?” The man continued. The boy didn’t know how to respond to that. His silence was taken as a no. “Your name is Spider Socorro.”
Spider Socorro. Spider Socorro. He played the name in his head. His name was… Spider. That is not what They had called him but it felt right. The name settled deep in his heart. He wouldn’t forget it this time.
He abandoned his plate and crawled back under the bed. Hidden between the mattress and the bed frame was a small knife. He didn’t remember where he’d gotten it from but he definitely wasn’t supposed to have it. He pulled the knife out and turned onto his side facing the wall. He started carving.
Spider Socorro. He carved the name into the wall right next to the old tally marks. This way even if he forgot it, this would remind him.

What if Quaritch never rescued Spider from the lab coats.

Summary
Jake grabbed the songcord with only 6 beads, “What is this?”
Spider’s eyes welled up with tears, shame crawling on his skin. He didn’t reply. Jake knew what it was and was asking only to embarrass him, to make him admit it so he could be corrected for his mistake. His chin started trembling, and to save himself from further humiliation, he ducked his head, trying to calm his hitched breaths.
Jake tried again, softer, almost reverent, “It’s really pretty.”
Spider shaked his head, it wasn’t pretty, it was stupid. He wanted nothing more than to snatch it back from Jake’s hands and throw it in the ocean, to throw the evidence of everything he wanted but could not have in the deepest parts of the sea.
Or, after the RDA and Quaritch, Spider is forced to face the reality he had been avoiding for too long.
