Summary
Matt stands there as i pace up and down his living room trying to find something else to say other than the three stupid words that have been on the tip of my tongue for months. He finally snaps, placing his hands on my shoulders to get my attention "Eliot!" the harsh tone snaps me out of my trance and causes me to recoil slightly. His grip softens at my reaction, but he quickly covers it up with a deep breath as he sets his shoulders, and squeezes mine. "just say it. i can take whatever you have to say. so get it over with, and just stop avoiding me!" he takes another breath and roughly pushes out his next words as he lowers his head towards the floor. "just, say it." And that's all it takes for the one thing I've done everything i can to avoid even thinking about to come flying out of my mouth as i roughly push his hands off my shoulders. "i love you! ain't that the worst thing you've ever heard?" he looks up grinning like a devil.
or. Running away from all his problems sounded great in theory. starting over in a place where no one knows him or who he was before, but running away always comes with it own set of problems. this time he's not sure he can run from them anymore, and now, hes not even sure he wants to.

Summary
Adam squeezes the wheel tighter, the red of the stoplight illuminating the bruises on his knuckles as he forces himself to stare down at them. Anything. Anything to avoid looking at Morgan's shaky hand holding their bag of takeout food in her lap. If he looks, he's reaching over to grab her hand and interlocking their fingers together to stop her trembling.
The words had been stuck in his throat ever since she busted the lock on the old cellar he was found in that afternoon. I'm okay. I'm fine. You saved me. How could I calm the fear in your head? had been lodged in his chest with no escape ever since she threw his arms around him in a strong, almost too intense, embrace that landed her sideways in his lap as he sat bound to a chair.

Summary
The feeling of relief that passes through Karadec when he sees Ava on the swat team’s camera doesn’t last long. Mostly, because even if she’s no longer missing, even if she won’t get shot as long as she stays at Daphne or Morgan’s side, he knows exactly what Morgan must be thinking, because he’s thinking it too. Even if they’re together, they’re still in there. In there with the unsolved case and the bomb.

When Ava brings home pot brownies, she sets off a chain of events that changes things for the better. This is how Morgan and Karadec realize that they want to care for each other on and off of crime scenes. Including some favorite tropes: accidental drugging, accidental snuggling, sleepy feels realizations, massages, and of course, first times (with the other person that is).
