Gobber and Astrid run into each other on their way to confront Hiccup before he leaves, and as a result, neither of them ends up going after Hiccup. Toothless and his boy fly away to the northeast, and they don't ever plan to come back.

Summary
Hiccup and his dad didn't fix their relationship post-first movie. Instead, they regularly get into screaming matches around Berk. Hiccup's final straw is brutally atomised when Stoick threatens to ground him and Toothless indefinitely in order to teach Hiccup how to be a 'proper chief and viking'.
Hiccup, whose finally found himself a home in the sky, disrespectfully disagrees and yeets himself out of the berkian's lives.
So I kinda just gave away the whole plot but whatever you can't have everything in life. Please read this is my second fandom post lets goooooooooo. (Hope it's better than the first)

Summary
a desperate human is far more dangerous than any dragon
When given a choice between all he's ever known, and the wilderness beyond it, Hiccup chooses the latter. Now, five years later, he has abandoned humanity, mimicking the behaviours of his brother - Toothless - and the rest of their flock. Content to leave his entire childhood in the past, Hiccup is dragged back into fifteen years of unpleasant memories when his peers from Berk crash into his new home. He soon finds his allegiances split between the new life he has built for himself, and the one he abandoned.
Berk is starving, plagued by constant dragon raids and empty seas. The heir to the chiefdom, Astrid, leads the expedition to find the famed dragon master, and beg for his help in stopping the raids. Little does she know, behind the mask, is somebody she's been mourning for years.

As a last resort, Astrid and her team are sent away to request the Dragon Master's help.

Hiccup looks out at the island in the dark. Tiny people and animals only distinguished by the tiny lights they had from Hiccups view. All of them were solitary unlike the lights of forest critters and dragons, whose lights flowed into the sea of essense of Midgard and Yggdrasil.
There were a few lights that were firmly rooted to one part of Yggdrasil and Midgard however. Those were the ones who could be a danger to him. A small one though.
Hiccup closed his eyes, he was to mess with them a bit. That was all this expedition was. Mess with the Berkians a bit, and check up on them. ‘Check’ hah.
He picked through the dots down below recognizing each one. He found the ones he wanted and pulled. Their strength became his, and their lights dimmed in his mind. In the place of the strength he took he placed pain. It would do any lethal damage only hurt.
Satisfied upon hearing the screams of pain Hiccup laughed and flew away.

Or, Hiccup flees Berk and vows to return and destroy, gaining allies, enemies, and a touch of magic.

Berk will burn eventually, and he will be gone by then.
Hiccup sighs, Toothless grunts quizzically beside him.
"Yeah I know bud"
Or
What if hiccup cared a little less and was a lot more bitter, fleeing berk the night he and astrid returned from the nest? A child not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel it's warmth.
