The last rays of the afternoon sun beginning to fade to evening amidst the purple and orange hues of a sky readying itself for the fall of night, occasionally obscured by the wisps of clouds as they meander their way from horizon to horizon with barely a breeze to stir the leaves on the trees.

Summary
Dazai could predict almost anything even if it wasn’t his ability to do so; he could predict almost anything and that was a fact. (nevertheless he hadn’t been able to kill himself -yet. That had been the only factor so far that he couldn’t seem to get right.)
Being Mori's disciple leaves a lot to be desired, and when Dazai is deprived of everything meaningful in his life, he recoils into himself and does what he knows best: he searches for ways to alleviate the pain. The strain of being such a young promise to the Port Mafia is not easy on the body, not even to the infamous Demon Prodigy.
There are few things that matter enough in Dazai's life that are worth fighting for against the abject terrors of his nightmares, although at the end of it, it's in everyone's best interest to be kept away from such a wasteful and putrid life. Or that's what he is convinced about.
This is a story about coping and emotional neglect, a realistic portrait (or at least I hope so) of the difficulties that come with being a teenager in the mafia and dealing with everything that comes with it.

Summary
After being kicked out of the orphanage he had called home his entire life, eighteen-year-old Atsushi Nakajima finds himself on the banks of a river in Yokohama City, on the brink of starvation. In a last ditch effort to survive and prove those who raised him wrong, Atsushi plans to rob the next person he sees. His interactions with this person, Detective Akutagawa Ryuunosuke, do not end as expected, and Atsushi finds himself being swept up in a conflict that stretches far beyond the black-and-white trope of "Good vs. Evil".
(This fanfiction is based on an AU in which Akutagawa is the one who leaves the Port Mafia and joins the Armed Detective Agency, while Dazia remains with the mafia. Hope you enjoy!)
