“C’mon,” the guard drawled as he paused just outside the bars, thumbing through an impressive ring of keys. He unlocked the cell door and gave Wilson an expectant look as he gestured a hurry up motion, pulling the cell open. “Y’friend bailed ya out.”
“Friend?” Wilson couldn’t keep the disbelief out of his tone, because he had never been to Louisiana before, had never attended a medical conference in a state that wasn’t considered part of the Northeast before, and could only remember the names of roughly three people he’d met the past eight hours. He didn’t exactly have friends right then, at least not in that state.
