Steve had been having dreams. Dreams so vivid that he would wake up, look in the fancy-ass mirror next to his bed, and be surprised to find he didn’t have a ring of bruises around his neck.
He’d never really thought about Eddie Munson in bed before, but once the thought had been planted, especially a thought of that nature, Steve’s imagination, however slow to start, didn’t really stop… imagining.
Which was really quite a problem when they were just becoming friends.(featuring: eight pages of possibly the best smut i've ever written, a really quite unecessary plot development about bisexuality being a real sexuality that might be directed at the author's father, and a lot of focus on Eddie Munson's eyes)

Eddie shoots Steve a roguish smile, “Why, are you interested?”.

Eddie’s playful grin morphs into a look of genuine surprise, “Wait, seriously?”.
Steve doesn’t really know why, but he’s dead serious. Some part of him just knows that this is something he should say yes to. Maybe, after three years of having to act older than he is, of having responsibility that no teenager should have, maybe he’s saved up some youthful impulsiveness. There’s no trepidation or apprehension, no fear of later regrets, “Yeah, why the hell not”.

Billy and Steve hate each other passionately. It's part misdirected anger, part teenage angst, and part testosterone-driven peacock-ing.
And Hawkins really isn't big enough for the two of them.
Yet, no matter how tough someone might act, there's always some insecurity just beneath the surface that they're trying to hide. Billy ends up not being able to hide his from Steve for very long after the events of Season Two go down.

Then the dog shows up. Then Faye. Then Ed.
“I don’t understand you, Spike.”
Jet’s face is serious, his gaze somber, and Spike decides he really doesn’t like it. He tosses the bloody gauze aside and finally puts his hands on Jet’s hips like he has wanted to this whole time and pulls Jet in close. “I’ll tell you a secret,” Spike says, flicking his gaze from Jet’s eyes to his mouth and back again; “I don’t, either.”
