Ilia feels his heart sink a little lower in his chest at the sight of him. Misha, always Misha, appearing in the middle of the hallway like an angel of death Ilia can’t escape. Ilia hasn't seen him since the night of the final, and it’s like taking a punch straight to the gut.

Ilia pressed against the temples of his head, his mind trying to gather the correct words to articulate his feelings onto the slightly crumpled letter. Grabbing his pen, the ink flowed gracefully as he began to write.
Dear Misha,
"Hey pretty boy, won't you come to my room tonight?"
Ilia took a few seconds glancing at the vacant bottom of the paper, and without hesitance, he thoughtlessly scribbled down the rest of his thoughts.
"I'll make you come when you come to my room tonight.
Sincerely, Ilia"

Ilia is the sweetest partner Misha could ever ask for, but they have only been dating for a few weeks, Misha guesses Ilia thinks he has to be very nice and sweet. He does not have to be, Misha is so in love with him and he is already happy with not being hurt all the time and again, he is aware of his boyfriend dutiesOr: Misha is still affected by his past relationship, but Ilia is there to show him how he deserves to be loved.

That fact worries him a bit, because his neighbor seems to be in an abusive relationship. Misha has only ever seen one person coming out of the apartment and the doorbell only says I. Malinin, so it does look like only one person lives in the apartment. Who knows though? The other person could just come over everydays, because almost daily Misha hears:
“Mysti, Stop that!”
“Mysti, that hurts! Stop”
“Mysti, No!”
“Ouch!”
“Mysti”Or: Misha thinks his neighbour might be in a abusive relationship and tries to help. Things are completely different though.

“Do you really think … you think I only like you for sex?” Ilia mumbles, a huge feeling of guilt washing over him. They have been dating for weeks, how can Misha think that?Or: Misha is a little insecure about his relationship with Ilia, but luckily Ilia is there to prove him different.

They are born the same year, same age, six months apart, but the braces make Mikhail look childish, naive, hopeful. Ilia wants to bite them, wants to snag his teeth in the wires to feel at least something.
“You wanted this, didn’t you?” he sneers, to smother his own guilt. “Coming to my room just to make yourself feel better.” Mikhail nods quickly, dumbly. His eyes flicker everywhere except to Ilia’s own.
