Summary
Three years after Ellen Claremont’s re-election, a series of complex, cumulative events lead Alex and Henry to decide they need to break up: it’s mutual, and it breaks both of their hearts to pieces. Ten years after that, circumstances bring them back together and they have to decide whether trying again is worth the risk. Life changes, and then changes again, over two conversations.

Exemplary angst with a happy ending. Neither is shitty to the other.

Summary
A sea of dark curls. Warm, kind eyes. A slanted, smiling mouth, a dimple carved into the side. One hand holding a tall, steaming coffee, the other a mug full of Henry’s favorite tea. A whisper, a brush of fingertips in the trade off. The more important details.
“Hey, sweetheart.”
It’d be something out of Henry’s most treasured fantasies if he didn’t already know they’d be the last words this man ever says.
+
Henry fixes anomalies in other people's timelines. It's quite predictable and impersonal work for the most part.
(Save for when it seems intent on unraveling his own, of course.)

Summary
When his birthday postcard arrives, Alex doesn't expect it to come with a letter from a stranger. And when he writes back, he certainly doesn't expect a reply.
But one letter turns to two, and then into dozens more. What begins as a mistake turns into something neither of them could have predicted. Something worth waiting for.
“I think I’ve been falling for you since you were just ink on paper.”
Or: the modern letter-writing AU.
