Summary
Sometimes, Vimes feels like an armoured moon in orbit around a number of extremely specific planets.
‘Is it normal at my time of life to start thinking, I don’t know, odd thoughts? Out of character stuff? Strange daydreams and things?’
‘You mean like a mid-life crisis?’
Vimes isn’t sure he does. He knows about those. A man reaches a peak in life and wonders why there’s so much space at the top, then he starts driving a faster cart and runs off to Quirm with a secretary called Cloris.
(This fic needed to go back to the drawing board to have the broken bit set, but now thirsty Vimes has re-entered the building and is in reception)

Summary
During her travels, Hornet finds a mysterious shackle meant to bind malfunctioning automatons for future disassembly. Such a discovery would be insignificant — except more and more similar shackles keep appearing around the choral chambers, as if hunting a certain prey.
She's not the only one who has noticed. The Second Sentinel of Pharloom remembers such shackles from ages ago — and if their suspicion is correct, it is not just themselves who is in danger from an old hunter's obsession.
It will take both of their combined strength to combat this unseen foe…
(…and if that draws them closer together, well. That's just a bonus.)

Summary
I had been incredibly skeptical when Ratthi had sent me ‘Midnight Eclipse.’ I knew what fanfiction was, I had seen it in the more niche entertainment feeds before. Never specifically for Sanctuary Moon, but I'd assumed it existed. That didn't mean I had any actual interest in it, though. When I had first looked at them, I hadn't liked them. The quality varied too much and a lot of them weren't finished, or were really short, or really out of character. And I hated that. I really really hated that.
This one was different.

A near-fatal accident shows ART a shameful, heartrending feature of Murderbot’s programming. Worse still: Murderbot really doesn’t want to talk about it.

Summary
As a state-of-the-art B-class wormhole-capable deep-space research vessel, I do not consider myself to have many serious design flaws. Every piece of me has been meticulously crafted, is regularly maintained and upgraded, and there is very little I cannot do if I set my several dozen exabytes of processing power upon the task. This is why the Pansystem University of Mihira and New Tideland’s extra-curricular oversight committee deemed me more than capable of operating unmanned on the occasional intelligence-gathering reconnaissance mission. It is for the sake of both necessity and convenience that these missions are camouflaged as cargo runs.
Nonetheless, it is an unmistakable oversight that I am capable of being bored. It is also incredibly annoying that unmanned cargo runs are so dull.

Summary
Most of the code I write is code that I can evolve on the fly. My code to delete me out of security footage, for instance, was something I'd built up over months, adjusting it to different proprietary SecSystems as I encountered them. But this was different: my comm and feed protections were what kept me from falling under anyone else's control, and I couldn't afford to have them be anything but perfect, which was why I was here. If I wanted to fix this vulnerability properly, and I did, there were things that I needed to do that I couldn't do without help.
-
In the aftermath of getting hacked, Murderbot asks ART to help it make sure it can't be hacked the same way again. As it turns out, applying and testing a security patch is a little more challenging than usual when the vulnerable system is, you know, your own brain.

"I understand love better than he could."
The Changeling has been observing his mark for years. When Garak proves difficult to deceive he deals with the distraction in the best way he can - in the way Julian might. To take the form of an object is to become it, after all, and he has become Julian Bashir. Only better.

Summary
Beyond the far reaching fingers of the Federation Julian Bashir survives on the kindness of strangers and reciprocal gifts. A place to sleep in exchange for the care of a sick child. A meal for a healed bone. Passage to the next station for sex. Introductions get easier as he travels further, and despite the ever lingering sadness of dreams dashed, Julian finds that he doesn’t mind his life. He rather likes being an intergalactic man of mystery, leaving questions, broken hearts, and healed strangers in his path.

Summary
Maybe in another lifetime, he never made it out of the twenty-first century.
But here and now, in this moment — and he repeats those phrases like language is a thing with roots, a tethering thing — he sits on Garak's bed, naked, save for a pair of fresh standard-issue boxers, and swallows a mouthful of guilt with each sip of tea.
He cannot do much, but he can do that.
For Garak, he can do that.
Or
After coming back from the 21st century, Julian's more than a little rattled. Garak takes care of him as best he can.

Julian is having nightmares about Garak's death in the simulation.
The lines between reality and the simulation blur to the point where he needs to seek confirmation that he isn't still stuck in there.
And the only person capable of assuaging his fears (one way or the other) is Garak.

“Your kindness haunts my life like nothing else. I don’t understand how I could ever pay you back.”
“That’s fine. You don’t have to. It was freely given.”
I have never lived with despair, Doctor, the way I live with it now, Garak writes, and with that is for once telling nothing but the truth.

“Breathe, Elim,” he said firmly, “or I won’t be able to apply another layer before you pass out.”
When Garak obediently took a deep, ragged breath, Julian ruefully wished that he had known this way to make his husband behave back when he had not yet been a husband, but both a intoxicating friend and the most troublesome of patients.

Summary
‘Only One Bed’ trope-y Garashir one-shot. Takes place at the beginning of Season 6 of DSN. Technically could be considered canon-compliant if you don’t look at it too closely. It’s generally plotless, pointless, and smutty, but not quite smutty enough to be ‘explicit’ IMHO.
