Well. Otherwise occupied.
For a fleeting moment, Atsushi thought perhaps that was the reason Dazai was so distracted. Perhaps, now that he had no one to bully, he was growing bored.
That didn’t make sense though. He would have just bullied someone else instead.
(In fact, it would have most likely been him, Atsushi noted).
Just as he was about to say something, Ranpo stood up. ‘I’m going out.’ he huffed, before noticing Atsushi's helpless look. ‘Hm? Aww, it’ll be okay Atsushi-kun.’ Ranpo assured him. ‘Dazai just has a severe case of blue balls. It’ll be over in…well, I’d say approximately a week.’ he hummed, reaching for the door. ‘Bye now!’
A distant exclamation of “rude” came from the cupboard Dazai had attempted to lock himself in, but Ranpo didn’t pay it any mind.
Atsushi's face fell.
‘You mean he’s going to be like this for another week?!’

Chuuya had made a positively fascinating discovery recently. Peak entertainment, in his humble opinion. This one thing alone was almost enough to convince him karma did in fact exist and had decided to work in his favour for once.
Obnoxious flirt and serial philanderer Osamu Dazai got flustered from being called pet names.
No way in hell was Chuuya going to let him live this one down.
Except then he calls him "doll", and things quickly go downhill from there.

Or: Chuuya calls Dazai "doll", Dazai dissociates and questions his own humanity, and Chuuya comforts him because no matter what he thinks, Dazai is more than qualified to be a human being.
