“Oi, Dazai. We’re here.” Chuuya reached into the car to shake Dazai’s shoulders a bit, rearranging his coat to lay over the man’s back. Dazai swayed and blinked up at him. Whatever painkillers he’d been given had stolen the sharpness from his face. Dazai looked fifteen again, wide-eyed and vulnerable.
And then he smiled. He smiled and Chuuya’s heart stuttered because it was so fucking real, so small and different from all the painted faces he wore now.
This was dangerous.

Things started to look better once he met Saiki and the gang but the pressure never truly let up. When he and Kuboyasu Aren became friends things just clicked, and during moments when they were together nothing seemed to matter. Shun felt safe. However the ugly guilt and shame driven monster that is locked deep inside Shun never leaves.

With a loud pop, the light disappeared and Atsushi rushed forth screaming “Dazai-san!”
He didn’t expect to meet one cold amber eye, almost red in the light, and the barrel of a gun pointed at his forehead.
The man, no boy. He couldn’t be older than Atsushi himself stared back at him. The familiar bandages wove around his eye obscuring more of the boy’s body than Atsushi was used to. A grin was placed on his lips, and Atsushi noticed how similar he was dressed to a certain man with an unfortunate haircut. An all-black suit with a clearly oversized jacket hung off the boy's slim frame.
“Well, well, who do we have here? Tora? How cute,” the boy sang.
How will the ADA deal with Dark Era Dazai? Planning this to be a longer fic so get your popcorn ready

Dazai hated Christmas.
It wasn’t even a justified hate either, if he was honest. He had plenty of trauma to be perfectly in the right to hate a lot of things, but Christmas was not among them. There was no tragic event linked to the holiday whatsoever.
He just…hated it.
Perhaps it was the hypocritical attitude most people took on during these festive days. Everyone tried to be just a little nicer. “Spread the warmth” and all that garbage. If they were an asshole the rest of the year, there wasn’t much value in behaving nicely for only a few days.
Or maybe it was the fact that everyone expected him to be fine and happy and giddy even more so than was expected of him usually. Keeping up his carefree, happy trickster façade took a lot of energy as it was, but during Christmas especially, his colleagues would scold him just a little harder for talking about suicide and the like.
Regardless of his reasons, Dazai hated Christmas. That much was fact.
‘Oi, stop daydreaming and help me put these decorations up!’
And of course, then there was Chuuya.
Chuuya loved Christmas.
