"You're kidding," she says flatly. "I'll somehow end up with less money than I started with. They'll fine me for creating a public disturbance."
Galinda frowns. "I think it's a great idea."
Heart filled with shame, Elphaba shakes her head. "No one wants to kiss me."
"You don't know that's true," Galinda stresses, putting her notes down and grabbing Elphaba's hands meaningfully.

Last night I dreamed I went to Kiamo Ko again...
An orphaned Elphaba works as a companion to the Munchkinland Governor's daughter, Nessarose Thropp. While spending the summer in the Emerald City, she makes the acquaintance of Fiyero Tiggular, whose home of Kiamo Ko is famous all throughout Oz. As is the story of how he is still mourning the tragic death of his beloved wife Sarima.
Yet somehow by the end of the summer, Elphaba finds herself as the new Mrs Tiggular, and returning to Kiamo Ko with Fiyero; trying to find herself in a house and a world where she is forever haunted by Sarima's ghost. Elphaba is under no delusions that Fiyero loves her, but as she clashes with the housekeeper, Madame Morrible, Elphaba realises there are more than two people in her marriage.
