Summary
A young boy from a rural town had been driven to the ER by his eldest brother with a bad case of pneumonia. The brother, Thomas, had assumed his younger brother Micheal caught it while draining irrigation water from one of their agriculture tanks. Unfortunately they had waited just a little too long and the infection had already started spreading to his blood. Whitaker lost him and was beside himself for it. Just like the man with the gas burns, Dennis had to watch yet another young man like him lose their life doing every day farm work. Things that he had done himself before. But this time, his patient was just a couple years younger than him. Short brown hair drenched through with sweat that was slowly going cold. An older brother left bereft of speech and thought holding his hand. Even as other doctors started filing out of the room Dennis stayed. He couldn't seem to tear his eyes away from the sight.

Dr. Robby stops him with a hand on Whitaker’s waist, there and gone. “Really,” he says low, directly into his ear, beard scratching his cartilage, “that was amazing. You didn’t waste any time starting compressions. That probably saved that baby’s life. You saved that baby’s life.”
The praise goes to his head, suffusing him with endorphins. “Thank you, Dad.” And he promptly wants to crawl out of his skin and slither down the drain with the after birth slop.

The older man slid onto the stool beside Dennis, close enough that their elbows almost brushed. He ordered a beer, his voice a low rumble that cut through the background noise. Dennis caught his profile in the mirror behind the bar – sharp jawline, salted hair, tired eyes, an easy confidence in the way he leaned against the worn wood.

Michael pulled back just enough to growl, "Stay open," before diving back in with renewed fervor. His tongue plunged deeper, a slick invasion that made Dennis cry out, hips lifting helplessly off the mattress. Then came the pressure -thick, blunt, and insistent- as Michael’s spit-slicked finger circled Dennis’s stretched rim. No warning, just the relentless push past resisting muscle, knuckle-deep in one brutal slide. Dennis gasped, the sudden fullness a sharp counterpoint to the wet heat still working him open from the outside. The stretch burned, a delicious ache that radiated through his lower stomach.

“Okay.” Stiles glanced at his phone, wincing at the battery being close to ten percent. It was probably time to call Scott. Turning off the flashlight, mostly to save battery and kind of freaking out over how dark it was—though the half-moon reflecting off the snow helped a bit—he opened his contacts with shaking hands and scrolled through to Scott’s name. Once he hit it, he put the phone to his ear, looking around, and froze.
The phone rang in his ear, but his eyes were locked on something big and moving through the trees.
Oh no. Oh no, no, no.
If that was a fucking bear, Stiles was fucked!
The line kept ringing and ringing, but Scott didn’t answer. Eventually his voicemail picked up and Stiles very slowly lowered the phone and hung up without looking, eyes still on the dark shape in the trees. He glanced down for only a second to turn on the flashlight function again, then lifted it ever so slowly upwards, and felt his breath freeze in his lungs.
It was a wolf.
It was a motherfucking wolf.

Buck’s fights back his first response, a confused “no fuckin’ idea, bud”. Instead, he watches as Chris grabs a sheet of yellow paper and a pair of scissors from the box.
“I’m guessing a tornado of bees, which is… kinda scary thinking about it. The noise alone… so much buzzing…” Maybe the Sharknado creators would be interested in branching out into insects.
OR
What if Buck never made it through the fire academy, instead choosing to take up teaching. A broken family, one cheating ex and an apartment fire later, maybe he'll finally get the family he's always deserved.

"So it's final, no more mustache?" Buck asks, with one last teasing smile before the sentiment drops off his face entirely and his hand slides upwards to squeeze his knee.
"Sounds like a solid plan, doesn't it?" Eddie asks, not knowing why his voice sounds choked up even to his own ears, and he shakes his head as if to clear it. He can't read Buck's face anymore and that unsettles him, but something else is digging more insistently into the back of his head.
There is something I want here, Eddie thinks, wondering.
