Light filtered in between her crossed arms, another unfortunate reminder that there was more to life than the unforgiving surface of her desk. She lifted her head, blinking in the too-bright lights of the shared office space. A headache throbbed behind her eyes, stretching down into a tight squeeze under her teeth. She nudged the mouse of her computer a bit, hoped that her nap hadn't cost too much time and, well. Wasn't that great. The calendar was on the fritz. Another sigh nearly escaped her as she rubbed at her eyes, dreading the call to IT that would be needed to fix it. Seemed like it was just one mess after another these days.
"Afternoon sleepyhead," came a too-familiar voice from beside her, one that made her blood run cold. "Finally developed an immunity to caffeine?"

And it’s at this point that I realise: I don’t know who I am.When Ryland Grace wakes up in a jail cell and Eva Stratt finds herself in the middle of a spacewalk, neither of them are particularly clear on how they ended up there. Grace must do his best to reverse-engineer whatever phenomenon landed him in Stratt's body, while Stratt must work with Rocky to investigate Tau Ceti's Astrophage population.
Unfortunately, Grace is stuck on Earth.
And Stratt doesn't remember a thing.

“What are you talking about?” Grace's fingers played quick chords as he spoke. He didn’t even look as he did it, but it did not make them any less purposeful.
“Discussing possible reasons why Tau Ceti is not infected while other stars are,” Eva replied deftly. “I would invite you to join, but we were just finishing—”
“Oh, that’s easy.” His hand twisted a knob, and the notes came out sharper. “It is infected—Petrova Line and everything.”
In Grace's opinion, dreaming about time traveling is no excuse for getting out of practice with his Eridian. To the rest of the Petrova Taskforce, it seems a bit odd that their resident Astrophage expert has suddenly taken to carrying a keyboard around and playing it whenever he speaks. Eva Stratt resolves to figure out what is going on.
