At times like this Yoongi feels possessed, like it’s something inside him fighting and thrashing, some other creature trying to get out. He sees it, a demon with his face and strange clothes, fast-chanting incantations in a mix of proper language and something that must be demon speech.
At times like this, he knows the curse Park Jimin laid on him is real. Perhaps one of Joseon’s many murdered and martyred kings has taken residency within him, an angry ghost.

An Ot7 BTS AU with magic.
Lode is the northern polar city, run by a repressive Mutuality founded to tap the abundant magic of the long polar night.
Seven magical boys live in the shadow of this repressive regime. As the children of those who resisted the Mutuality, they are named traitors, magical but marginalized. Namjoon has been adopted by the ambitious Deputy Mayor, trained as a mage as part of a malevolent political scheme. Hoseok is engaged to be bonded to the Deputy Mayor’s son in a terrible ritual. Jimin and Taehyung live and work under the protection of the city’s black marketeers. Jungkook has been driven by desperation and a fear of his own prophetic abilities to join the city guard, Jin’s on the run because his grandmother led a failed rebellion… and you don’t even want to know what’s happening to Yoongi.
If they can come together, there’s a chance the seven of them can turn things around. But the whole of the Mutuality is bent against them, and Namjoon and Hoseok are running out of time.
This book had a strange genesis and I’m not sure what else to write here. Please please tell me what you’d like to know and I’ll amend this as it grows.

Two nights ago when he stumbled upon a steaming bowl of ramen, smack on the kitchen table of his otherwise empty dining room, Joon thought maybe Hoseok or one of the staff had made himself a late-night ramen. It happened sometimes—somebody worked to the point of fainting, and they got a stealth delivery brought to the back alley entrance, or hit a convenience store.
