On impulse, he blurted out, “Do you want to get coffee sometime?”
Quackity stiffened, surprise flashing across his features. Panic suddenly flared in Wilbur’s chest as he realized the implications of what he offered. It was one thing to come over and hang out as friends, and a very different thing to go out for coffee. He had crossed an invisible line in the sand, and not an unimportant one.
While friendship across the hero-villain divide was fine and even encouraged, romantic relationships were far too complicated and could turn bad very quickly. He knew that, and Quackity knew that too. While coffee didn’t have to be romantic, it was far too close for comfort when they had already been drifting on the edge of impropriety for so long.
That’s why he was shocked when Quackity jerkily nodded his head.

Wilbur was a villain, once. Quackity was a hero, once. Now, they’re both just retired single fathers who happen to like each other a little (or a lot). But when an old friend comes to Wilbur with an offer to get back in the game, they’ll have to decide what’s more important: their allegiances, or love.

Wilbur blushed. “It was nothing,” he said. “I could say the same for you.”
“What do you mean?”
“I’ve said it once and I’ll keep saying it however long you need to hear it. You make me feel alive. So thank you.”

“Would you want to start a band?” He blurts out one evening, and he winces as he’s hit by a wave of déjà vu. “Do you want to start a country?” He blinks the memory away. It isn’t the same, he assures himself. This isn’t a government or a competition, there’s no way for him to ruin it for himself like he always does; it’s just music, and that’s all it will remain.
Joe shrugs, and it isn’t a rejection. A knot unravels in Wilbur’s stomach, releasing a tension he didn’t know he was holding. “Sure. Sounds like fun.”

Summary
He thinks of what Phil will say when he gets back home, the words "I told you so" echoing in his ears. It’s stupid, Phil would never actually say that, Phil would hug him and say he’s glad Wilbur is okay, but it doesn’t stop him from imagining it on repeat. Take somebody with you. It’s not safe. I told you so.
“Fuck!” He yells. He spins and punches the nearest tree. “Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” Each time he curses, he punches the tree again. His knuckles cry out in pain but he ignores it, too frustrated to care.
Then, on the fifth hit, the impossible happens. The middle section of the trunk disappears, yet the top merely floats in the air, casually defying all known laws of physics.

Wilbur is sick and tired of his life as a gas station worker in Utah. After a river trip vacation gone wrong, he is whisked away into the world of the Dream SMP, where he might just have a chance to start anew.

“Something has been stolen from us,” Thanatos said, his wings puffing up as he spoke. “Something that is very important to us. And we are fairly certain that the person who stole this thing of ours is in this very crowd.”
Dream tensed beside Tommy as the crowd broke out into murmurs. Eyes were darting towards the different heroes in the crowd, the benefactors no doubt assuming that the culprit had to be a hero.
“Like we said, we haven’t crashed your party to cause trouble. But we want this thing returned to us, and we won’t hesitate to take extreme measures to get what we want.”
or, Tommy was a lot of things: a newly debuted hero sidekick, an amnesiac, and a former kidnapping victim of the Syndicate.
Tommy didn't actually remember that last one though. That was just what Dream told him.
Only weeks after his hero debut, the Syndicate announces they are searching for something, and Tommy knows it has to be him. The scariest part? If they find him, Tommy will have no clue what to expect, because the Syndicate might know him, but he has no memories of them.
So he can't let them find him. No matter what.
Of course they end up finding him anyway.

Wilbur frowned and sat up, ready to seriously chew Tommy out, but he caught a glimpse of red and blue out of the corner of his eye, on the wall. He turned his head, wondering where that came from, and stopped in his tracks once he took in the sight of the large, handmade flag on the wall. The L’Manberg flag.
He couldn’t bring himself to take his eyes off of it. The holes, patched up carefully by working hands, the singed and frayed edges - exactly as it was in his dream. It seemed to scream at him, the colors bright and strong and telling him exactly what he didn’t want to hear.

Wilbur thought the Manberg vs Pogtopia war would be his final hurrah, the end to a tragic tale he had woven over months of countless streams. But when a lucid dream turns into his new reality, he struggles to fill the shoes of a character he’d become so familiar with - and in his efforts to return home, he unravels a mystery far beyond his imagination.

Wilbur couldn’t believe it when he began to feel sorry for this dragon.
Dragons had murdered his people. They had ripped his own family away from him. They had caused years upon years of suffering to those before him, and it had only gotten worse for those in front of him now. And yet…he felt sorry for one of them.
Or, in which Wilbur has several crises as he deals with the burden of being the next chief, having a younger brother figure that attracts problems, losing half of his family, and oh, maybe training a couple dragons along the way. (A self-indulgent HTTYD AU)

“No!” Tommy scrambled out into the clearing, rushing to the ship. “Wait! Dream! Wait! I’m right here!”
Before he could even get into the sight of the cockpit, his body froze. He was still reaching out, his mouth open mid yell, but his entire body was rigid. It was like he hit a stone wall, but it was molasses. He couldn’t move, barely even breathing. His eyes were stuck, zeroed in on the cockpit. He could practically see Dream. The man had already flicked the switches and was about to pull back on the wheel. And, Tommy was so close. He was right there. All Dream had to do was look to his right and he would see Tommy.
“Hello there, pup.”
tl;dr: SBI in space. But with a twist.
