Summary
"Tell me what you want, Tyler. Whatever it is, you know without a doubt that you can tell me, and there won't be any judgement." He says it like a suggestion, but it's true. It will always be the truth.
"I wanna... wanna let you take control. Sex," he puts it bluntly.
Carlos can't help the small chuckle that leaves his lips. "You want sex, baby? You're sure?" It's not an unusual request. He'd do anything to distract TK from his pain, including fucking him so hard into the mattress that he can't sit right for days.
TK nods. "You take control," he says again. "With your... suggestions. Play with me." He sighs, like he's much more content now that that's in the air. "Make me feel good. Tease me. Please."
"Hypno sex, huh?" Carlos leans down, brushing his lips over TK's. "Oh baby, you never have to beg for that. I'll take care of you."
In which TK and Carlos have hypnosis-enhanced sex.

"Was this a mistake? Am I—am I only making things worse?"
He doesn't ask Can I do this? because he doesn't know what he'll do if the answer is no.
"No. No, Carlos, don't think that for a second." TK says it with so much force that he leaves no room for argument. "This is new, but it's only the first night. Jonah needs us."
Carlos pulls away, hating himself for it. He can't look at TK when he says, "He needs you. He needs to be surrounded by wolves, a—a pack, or something. Not a human who's stumbling in the dark for the right answers." He shuts his eyes tightly. He doesn't want to cry, because TK is right: it's only the first night. What will it say about him if he's reduced to tears on the first night?

TK and Carlos bring a very frightened Jonah home. When Jonah starts to show signs of his first shift, Carlos struggles with how to support him.

Summary
Up ahead, a logging truck turns onto the highway. It's going quite a bit slower than the rest of the cars, but is accelerating to catch up. Carlos slows down to accommodate it, and that's when the guy behind him lays on the horn.
There's a split second where Carlos gets nervous—an irrational fear from watching the second Final Destination movie with their friends a few days ago. He reminds himself that it's just a movie. It's still daylight out, the roads aren't slick with rain or ice—these are ideal driving conditions. He's never so much as scratched the paint on any car he's owned. It's fine.
Just a dumb movie.

He watches as she sets the IV to high flow, something he's only seen TK do a few times while they were in the field together. "This won't make him come."
"Oh, yes it will," she counters. "Computer, start a broadcast on all local television frequencies."
"Starting broadcast…"
"The drug trials have only ended in one of two ways," she tells him, a sinister grin on her face. "Either you manifest some kind of enhanced ability, or your body overloads from the change and you die. I imagine neither of you wants to take that risk." She turns to the screen, which displays their mirror image in the recording. "The clock is ticking. If the Blizzard has a conscience, he'll have to come here and try to stop me."
For the sake of humanity, Carlos really hopes the Blizzard is selfish.

Summary
The first time Carlos ever saw TK Strand, he was playing honeypot for a vampire.
Carlos didn’t know this, of course, at the time. He’d simply caught sight of the most devastating green eyes he’d ever seen in his life, blinking innocently up at a tall, thin man with greed in his smile. What gave away the vamp himself was the smooth, lascivious way he’d run a finger delicately down this pretty man’s arm, full of possessive intent. Vampires just had a way of asserting their aura in a room: look at me, you can’t touch me, but I can own you.
The thought, coupled with the sight of the pretty man’s sweet, naive smile as he threw back the last of his drink and got up to follow the vampire out of the bar, made Carlos shiver in disgust before he had the wherewithal to jump up and follow them. He was not about to let some innocent person become dinner on his watch.
