Summary
A part of Mirabel whispered that with her Tia Pepa's baby along the way, her presence would soon be replaced with a more acceptable Madrigal. One that is more loveable and smarter and stronger and more graceful. And most importantly, one that has a gift. Nothing like plain, old Mirabel Ordinario.
Yet the cruel and twisted other part of her crooned in her ear that it was only the Candle giving them the family their gifts anyway. Just one single blow and everyone would be normal just like her and then they would finally understand. After all, it was perhaps the Candle’s fault that she doesn’t have any gift. Because she did everything, before and even now, yet it still decided that Mirabel is not worthy enough of having her own gift.
When she realized how dark her trail of thoughts had become, she bolted up from her bed and covered her ears as if to block out the almost blasphemous thoughts that dared to cross her mind. And while Mirabel would never act on such dark thoughts because everyone deserves their powers, Mirabel was sure that it would be better if she left Encanto entirely.

Just a couple short months after the last ceremony wherein his nephew was Gifted with shapeshifting, the bottom floor of the Casita was once again packed with people from the town. They filled every square inch of the room, conversations and laughter throughout the house melding into a mostly incomprehensible mess. That didn’t stop Bruno from hearing the occasional hushed comment as he passed, but for tonight, he didn’t mind. Tonight, his little sobrina was receiving her Gift.

Summary
Every day. Every day, she was ignored by her family. Sure, she had saved the miracle, but after a year, everybody seems to forget that as life moves on, their powers return, her family finds love. . . and she? She is tossed off to the side with only two or three people who truly seem to care about her.
So she leaves. Sixteen-year old Mirabel decides that she doesn't want to live in a family where she is unappreciated, but not unloved, because that is the worst. She climbs through the mountain and makes it to the other side. The town there is like a fresh of breath air, a relief from Casita and magic and the Madrigals.
And she never comes back. . .

Summary
Casita saw. Casita saw Mirabel’s hopelessness. Casita saw that Mirabel felt useless. Felt like she was a burden without a gift. Casita knew Mirabel would be great, but only if the family helped each other, talked and healed their cracks, like the cracks Casita had. Casuta didn’t know if it would be possible, as every family member had a problem, every family member had something that was wrong. So what did Casita do? Casita used the rest of her magic, even if the cracks were already there, to show them. Show them their problems. But first, Casita waited for the next day. The day after Antonio’s gift ceremony. No others than the Madrigals was supposed to see. So after Antonio’s gift ceremony, before the cracks got too much and the family couldn’t be fixed. Casita was sure, the family needed helping, and the help they would get.
Or, The Madrigal family reacts to the movie Encanto. Updates might be a little slow, school starts this week and I need to watch the movie a ton of times to get the right words and stuff. :)

Mirabel is pushed too far. She doesn’t snap, cry, or scream. She stays silent. Too silent. She purposefully distances herself from her family, they only see her during meals, but she never stays long and is deathly quiet. No one really notices until villagers start asking for help on things they've never done before, until they notice some of Mirabel's things thrown into the trash, until the children and Antonio ask where is Mirabel constantly, and until her lovely bright embroidered dress loses all its color and design. Julieta, struck with a sense of deja vu, sees all of this happening, against her mother's judgment who believes Mirabel is doing all this for attention, is determined to show her daughter that she is loved and needed here, regardless of what anyone says.
