Sokka is officially an Ambassador for the Water Tribes, and unofficially just a guy who comes to Caldera to shoot the shit with his friend for a few months every year. Zuko has been hard at work basically rebuilding the world since the war ended, and Sokka likes to help out when he can. Plus, he gets to be around Zuko, which is a huge plus in his book.
To everyone in the palace, he’s just Sokka, the Ambassador.
To Zuko, he’s a good friend.
Tonight, Sokka’s finally going to change that.
And if tonight ends with him railing the Firelord against his own desk, well...nobody needs to know.
