Summary
Ororon could perceive the souls of many, and ever since he had met the First of the Fatui Harbingers, Ororon had developed a habit of indulging in this ability on a whim.
The Captain’s soul was a void teeming with a cacophony of restless souls, their whispers ever-present inside the husk that rarely spoke. It was a strange phenomenon that took precedence within the First of the Fatui, but Ororon didn’t really question it. At its core, his soul was good, but maybe a little rough around the edges.
What about the soul of the other Fatui harbinger at the Captain’s side?
Kinich, that’s what they called him.
Capitano had advised against it, but Ororon was naturally curious, and he was hardly the obedient type…
…
Nothing could’ve prepared Ororon for what he would see inside the soul of Malipo Kinich.

Summary
“Why do we keep returning to this nation, Captaino? There is nothing of value here…”
The figure dressed like a husk turned ever so slightly. “You must think that I have alternative plans beyond the Tsaritsa’s, given how often you insist…”
The other harbinger fell silent. Eventually, the first Fatui harbinger spoke again.
“You have ties here, Kinich, and so do I. There is something here- in Natlan- worth fighting for.”
— or
Harbinger Kinich returns to the Nation of War with the first of the Fatui Harbingers, uncovering the past and a whole new meaning to Il Capitano’s mission to reach the gnosis. Meanwhile, a little dove pulls the strings to make this discovery all the more affronting to the junior Harbinger.

Summary
Crickets always moved in groups according to their biology. Tribes were like this too; if anyone happened to lost their way, they would extend a open hand, similar to the method crickets used chirping to guide their lost ones.
Kinich was an odd case for he had always rejected their offers of help.
— but why?
Maplio’s childhood was filled with loneliness and abandonment. Everyday it was a fight for survival when both his parents left him, leaving little Kinich to act alone and interact with his own tribe as an almost outsider to the Scions of the Canopy.
The boy once held no concept of what a hero was or what it truly stood for before ultimately becoming one himself, bearing on his tribe’s ancient name as the Turnfire. One of the virtues of a hero was self-sacrifice, but how could a lonely boy know what self-sacrifice truly meant?
Such a backstory was unfit for a hero so they believe, but Natlan’s archon believed otherwise. However, Kinich came at a high price.
According to the laws of how this world worked, Mavuika knew that— setback after setback he would spring back and defy fate before inevitably finding himself in her open arms.

There was no peace in his eyes. There never was.
Kachina’s rabbit ears folded back as her lips trembled; the “Uthabiti” of the Nanatzcayan resolved to never be defeated by her tears. Yet…
“No… K-Kinich!”

Summary
The Cataclysm was the cause of widespread chaos and destruction within the 7 nations of Teyvat.
The re-emergence of the withering was an unforeseen event for all of Sumeru and its last God-King. The lush green, verdant lands of the Dendro Archon were never to be seen again when the Wall of Samiel collapsed. The desert sands had taken over the lands ravaged by the outbreak; forests were turned to ash and flowers were replaced with the parasites of the witherings. Technology turned into currency, wisdom lost its value, and devotees became consumed by blasphemy. Survival was the only option in the wastelands.
Sumeru became lawless with the fall of the Akademiya. Over the course of a few centuries, remnants of the government have gained stable control over the lawless regions that make up the wasteland. However, this fight still continues when the proof of Greater Lord Rukkhadevata’s knowledge is uncovered.
One cowboy must find his way in a post-apocalyptic Sumeru ravaged by the withering, where he must fight for survival and live by code at the same time.
