Summary
Rook is at a loss. Injured after Weisshaupt, plagued by dreams of the Dread Wolf, and a gaping hole in her chest after a heated moment with Neve--
Neve is at her wits end. She's chasing leads around Dock Town to get closer to Aelia, but is met with dead ends. Her efforts do little to supress her memories of a certain Shadow Dragon.
Neither expected to get sucked into another Venatori Plot as they try to reconnect.

Summary
After the Siege of Weisshaupt, Rook is hurt. The team is struggling, including Neve Gallus who can't stop thinking about Rook's brush with death. She resolves to visit their leader and finds that Rook really is nothing but Trouble.
Also, just my take on how the almost kiss should have gone. Like a wisp would stop Rook from kissing her favorite mage.

“Testing my patience, hm?” Neve teased and Rook was acutely aware of how breathless she sounded. Rook smirked against her skin, nipping once at her hip. “Just making sure I give you the attention you deserve.” Rook replied with such ease it made Neve’s heart swell. She was always so ready to please and god did she please.
“You spoil me, you know.” Neve sighed, reaching to touch the side of her face. Rook leaned into the touch, turning her face to kiss her palm. “And you deserve it.” Another quick answer from Rook. She was, without question, utterly devoted to the woman beneath her touch. She wanted nothing more than to feel and to hear her.

Tormented by her memories of Elgar'nan and shaken by the events of the past few weeks, Neve finds that she can't face sleeping alone after the final battle. Rook is there to support her - if only Neve can work up the courage to ask.
One year later, Neve returns to Rook’s Minrathous apartment triumphant on the heels of solving a difficult case. They share a special evening together, but much is still left unsaid from a year ago. There are things Neve needs to tell Rook, and she struggles for the words. But when Rook finally breaks down from regret, she finds them.
