Summary
Alhaitham puts Kaveh’s theory into question by pulling Kaveh into his lap, making him let out an embarrassing, high pitched yelp at the sudden movement. This Alhaitham is so much bigger than him, and his huge arms easily cage Kaveh’s small frame within his grasp. His legs easily slot around Alhaitham’s thighs. Kaveh is used to being the taller, elegant senior that his little Haitham looks up to, but under Alhaitham’s gaze, he feels like a little bunny staring into the predator’s maw. It doesn’t help that Alhaitham smells heavenly, a shockingly masculine, overbearing scent that makes Kaveh want to rub his thighs together.
“Of course, once the domain’s conditions are fulfilled, the occupants are usually spit right back out.”
Their new position puts Kaveh’s face right up to Alhaitham’s. His Haitham has always had beautiful eyes, green like the eyes in his hair, overlapped with the red of the setting sun, the shine in his eyes always especially when looking at Kaveh. Right now, the red in his eyes is so dark they look almost black, and it makes his eyes look particularly bright, anticipatory, hungry. Alhaitham is looking at Kaveh like he wants to eat him.

He couldn't quell the shiver that coursed through him at those possessive words. The part of him that craved affirmation and yearned to be wanted ached with every syllable. "And I entrusted you with my little brother. Entrusted you with watching over my only kin. You should be expressing gratitude to your King," he said sweetly.
Cross recognized it as a cue, understanding that Nightmare anticipated a display of appreciation. It was a struggle not to slip into old habits, to resist when his mind swam and the weight of negativity pressed down upon him so relentlessly.
"I own you, Cross," Nightmare declared with a sinister satisfaction, his voice a venomous melody that echoed in the dim dungeon. "Every fiber of your being is mine to command. You're tethered to me, bound by the threads of your own inadequacy."

“I’m going to set an example for the mutt,” Nightmare said, smiling at Dream. His voice softened as he spoke to his brother. Cross gritted his teeth, glaring as Killer shot Cross a playful grin.
Killer knew precisely what was going to happen and Cross didn’t like whatever it was going to be. Fuck, he hoped Dream wouldn’t be punished on his behalf.
“Broth—eek!” Nightmare’s tendrils lashed out before Dream could finish, wrapping around him and yanking him forward. Dream fought against Nightmare, but it was useless as Nightmare brought Dream close, forcing him to straddle his brother’s lap. “What are you doing?!”
Cross squirmed, glaring as Nightmare wrapped an arm around Dream’s waist, bringing his brother’s back to his chest, even as Dream continued to fight against how Nightmare was holding him.
Dream’s arms, wrapped up in Nightmare’s tendrils, went up, stretching him back into an arch. He yelped, sockets wide in shock.
At the exact same moment, Cross was jerked upward, and he scrambled to get his knees beneath him as Killer jabbed his knife in Cross’s face.
“We get front-row tickets, Criss Cross. Hope you’re excited!” Killer cooed.

Half of it was still wrapped in shadow, blocked by Kaveh’s head, but he could see the distance between them measured, laid flat by the light. The lightning went. The room went dark. But the memory of Al-Haitham’s wide eyes did not leave him.
What did he want?
“Have you?” asked Kaveh.
“Have you?” Al-Haitham’s voice was so quiet, buried under the murmur of the rain.
Kaveh swallowed. “I mean…I thought that was obvious.”
Kaveh accidentally sleeps with Al-Haitham. And then...keeps sleeping with him.

“You’re not carrying me,” he says with a weak kick.
Alhaitham stops and lets his own legs take his full weight again; Kaveh’s ankle does something terrible for his self esteem and then he crumples almost to the sand before Alhaitham’s arm catches him again. One arm, because that’s all he needs to take Kaveh’s weight. He’s such a show off for a man whose ass never grew in. “Fuck’s sake,” Kaveh mutters to himself.
“You were saying?”
“Just—go.”
Alhaitham snorts. “Am I your servant now?”
“Yes,” Kaveh snarls.
