Summary
It’s a frigid night in September when he first forgets how to tie a barrel knot.
Weathered fingers glide over fishing line, knots weaving into webs around his knuckles, spidery thread crawling across aged skin. He stares, unblinking, at the gnarled masterpiece between his fingers. The air stings like firecrackers. His body aches with cold.
He is discovered three minutes later by a doppelganger, a mirror of a man who seems to have misplaced his favorite pen, half-scribbled sketch of a kraken in his left hand. The newcomer asks him for help before worried eyes lock on the fishing line, on the trembling, thread-woven gloves, on the glassy, vacant stare before him. Wind whips the sketch from the six-fingered hand; he pays it no heed.
They recite “My name is Stanley Pines,” back and forth in the ship’s cabin, until morning dances in through the curtains. Until the familiar sunbeams of identity light his skin again.

Summary
On the day the bandages are set to come off, Hawks saves the ones on his face for last.
The bandages peel like wrapping paper, unveiling the gift of burn-bubbled skin and roughened maps of tissue. He makes a futile attempt to cheer himself up as he unwinds the wrappings from his ribs, accenting the effort with a "magical girl"-esque twirl, but all humor is lost when two wingless shoulder blades meet him in turn. With a heavy sigh, Hawks leans back toward the mirror and strips free the last of the bandages, revealing a face so staggeringly not his own.
(After Dabi's attack leaves him wingless and scarred, a bitterly nostalgic Hawks struggles through his new normal--but finds empathy in one unexpected source.)

He starts feeling the prickle of sunburn at his nape as the afternoon creeps into a cloudless sunset. The pinkened skin tugs as Oboro’s head snaps to-and-fro—a spinning sweep of cumulus, punching a blanket of stratus into the ground, leaping high just to topple back onto the tile of the rooftop, entirely unsure what he’d even been going for.
The boy finally settles back into casual roundhouse kicks, trying to call to mind any ultimate moves he’d pitched throughout today’s training session. But his mind just keeps drifting back to the start of it all, the footage playing on loop behind his eyes, projected across the sandstone sky.
(While training for the U.A. Sports Festival, a quirk-based glimpse into his future leaves Shirakumo with more questions than answers.)

By now his dead skin is littered all over Ishval, scraps of white mingling with the blackened corpses he leaves behind.

It’s the night after Kamino, and the dream’s returned. By now, Yagi knows it from its scent alone: the soft breath of fresh rainfall is masked with the heavy rot of damp garbage, back alley dumpster festering in his periphery. And yet he isn’t lucid enough to escape, he never is, not even as those all-too-familiar hands slam into his back full force, sending his skull smashing against the sharp edge of the dumpster. Blood gushes over Yagi’s brow as he’s whirled around. A frightened cry stops short as those deadly hands find his throat.
“Beautiful,” All For One sneers, that piercing grin the only white in an alley swimming with dark. Yagi snatches at the man’s strangling grip, but the fingers only curl tighter into his skin. “Look at you now, All Might. The most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.”

Summary
One year after the Pines' fateful summer in Gravity Falls, things haven't turned out as expected for Dipper and Mabel's final year of middle school. Dipper's newfound role as Grunkle Ford's long-distance understudy and Mabel's drive to 'work on herself' has done much to distract them, but insecurities, especially about the future, are harder to kill than nightmare demons.
Meanwhile, the Stans have taken the hunt for Weirdness global, spending the last year chasing down 'Weirdness Hotspots' - and they've received word of a major hotspot down under: the lost town of Coiled Springs, Australia. Unfortunately, as a side-effect of slow sea travel, their mission will last well into the summer; faced with the prospect of missing their niece and nephew's 14th, they opt to change their plans - and insist that the kids come to them.
Joined by Soos, Wendy, and Melody, the Mystery Crew embark on a road trip across the outback to hunt down their missing town, dealing with Weird wildlife, time travelers, the finer points of multidimensional physics and enough anxiety to last a lifetime; a typical Pines vacation.

“’Course it is,” Hizashi smiled. “You’re worth it!”
Shouta’s sigh wiped the smile from Hizashi’s face, and the blond man pulled in a silent inhale, eyes tracing the beautiful body in front of him. Skin laced with ribbons of scars, twirling across age-worn muscle and the strong wings of his shoulder blades, too exhausted to take flight. Shouta twisted his head slightly to shake some water from his ear, giving Hizashi a glimpse of the salt and pepper curls stippled across his chest, the soft brushstroke of scarring beneath those tired, tired eyes.
Of course he was worth it. He was worth everything.
(With Shouta buckling under quiet stress, a loving Hizashi washes his hair.)

Only the crushing weight of this moment on his chest…of he and Yamada, sitting silent in his sorrow-wrecked bedroom, choosing an outfit for their best friend’s funeral.

The boy just stood by, guilty but blank-faced, still feeling the chill of the pilfered jewelry against his feathers. He’d just been following directions. He was supposed to follow directions.
But when his father had reached over and tousled his hair, it felt nice. He just had to tune out the brush of gold against his scalp.
