“She might tell you that I threw a bomb at her and that she kicked it into the shimmer barrels.” Without even taking a second to blink, the young woman took the opportunity to verbally bite back.
“Jinx….” She was constantly testing his limits. No amount of stock was worth more than the perfection that was his daughter, but he couldn’t lie and say her actions held no consequences. His men would probably be scrambling to pick up the pieces of her accident for weeks if the tiny snippet of a report he heard was true.
The funds he syphoned from a single barrel of the chemical he was famed for importing, could easily sustain a family for a few months – so to lose half a shipment would cause a few families to go hungry and at least a dozen junkies to be banging on their dealer’s door.
Maybe a few of those low-level dealers would try to knock on his office door for an audience with him, that is if Sevika’s intimidating nature or Jinx’s rabid dog chaotic energy, hadn’t scared them off first. Regardless, their needs weren’t a priority for Silco.
Jinx was.

Summary
Subject 6119 had been showing low results, getting everyone frustrated. They worked without permission and edited the medicine and doses given to her, unknowing what effects this would leave. In truth, they got what they wanted. The Subject showed extraordinary results, but the effects were more powerful than they assumed. In a test, the Subject teleported herself and every worker in the room with her, the stress and power usage within her body making her pass out shortly after, assumed dead.
It was awhile before the woman finally woke, and by then all the scientists and doctors assigned to the Project were slaughtered, mown down by gunfire. She was left there, no memories nor anything to herself, in a place abandoned by all. A relic of what was the Apex Games, and within, Legends forgotten and stranded. Her only ally to be one of them, but things have changed deeply since the games were destroyed. The Static Defender was far from who she once was.
