Summary
Sequel to "With a Friend in the Dark.”
It's been weeks since Buck's cancer diagnosis, and in most ways, things are looking up. The idea of resuming chemo still frightens him, but not nearly as much as it did last time. This time, he has people on his side. But Buck is about to learn that treatment is just the first challenge. Money troubles, identity crises, learning what real love means for the first time at twenty-seven... who knew cancer would be so complicated?
Eddie, meanwhile, is still wrestling with his guilt and anger over how he handled things the first time. Being there for Buck? That's a given. Figuring out what it means to be Buck's friend through his cancer treatments, in the wake of all that's happened between them? That seems a lot trickier. Even more so when Eddie starts to realize that anger and guilt might not be the only feelings he's having.

“If he turns on us I’m blaming you.” Gareth grumbled finally, and tried not to let the smile that broke out on Eddie’s face effect him.
“Glad to hear you’re on board, Garebear.” Eddie said, patting his shoulder hard.
AKA the entirety of Hellfire, prompted by one Eddie, “herder of misfits, freaks and geeks” decide to expand their circle to adopt a jock instead.

When Zayn saw the four of them, he merely smirked, his bloodied fangs gleaming in the moonlight and his beautiful hazel eyes looked deadly. A finger came up to his face and wiped the blood running down his chin. Zayn put his finger into his mouth and sucked it clean. The four supernaturals gulped. How could someone look so scary and so hot at the same time?
Or the one in which Zayn was a vampire.
Well, he wasn't a vampire exactly. He was kind of a vampire, if that made any sense. He's unique, at least that's what his mentor (Maker) told him.
However, Zayn didn't know how unique he was.
And neither did the other four Supernaturals whose presence became a permanent fixture in Zayn's life.
But he was about to find out soon enough.

Disclaimer: I stole frequently and unrepentantly from Joss Whedon and the makers of various horror movies throughout this whole series. Also I am not an expert on the Vatican or medical-type things, so please accept my apologies in advance for all the wild inaccuracies I am sure you are about to encounter. If everyone could just assume this is the Magical Made-Up Vatican, you know, like the religious institution version of those tour buses that drive themselves and don't carry anyone but the band, that would be awesome.
