Summary
This is a re-work of Season 12 moving forward. I always thought it was a mistake to bring Mary back. Dean never needed to look back in that sense. She never treated him like a child or helped heal the broken inner one. So I always thought, he should have been able to be happy and be a Dad.
I tried really hard to keep the cannon of everything that happened before the start of this work. But with that said, some stuff might just be wrong. I tried, I'm only human. I did my best but I'm sure I've missed a few things. I have read so many amazing works on here that I think some things from those have stuck in my brain and are now cannon =) Whoops.

This project is a love letter to all who made Supernatural what it is today–its creative team AND its fans.
You do not need any prior knowledge of “Chuck won” as an angle of analysis–or even any prior familiarity with Supernatural meta–
to read this. Knowledge of season 15 is encouraged, but hopefully my descriptions are enough to clue you in or refresh your memory when needed.For a lot of people, chunks of this won't be new to you. That's cool. But I do think there is value in seeing all of the pieces together in one place to create the full picture. Regardless, while the sections and chapters are written to build upon each other in an order, they also stand on their own merit if you want to skim or skip around.
My goal was to make this concept as accessible as possible to anyone who may be interested in it.

Summary
Felicity is great but eventually, it gets boring. What do you do when you are fed up with paradise? You ditch everything and return to the only thing you have ever known.
Set five years after the finale, this fic follows Castiel and Dean as they get back on the road, hunt things, manage their relationship, meet up with old friends, try to act like grown-ups, and maybe save the world. Once again.

The Curse of the Bitter is the first episode of this fic.
Castiel and Dean receive a phone call from one of their police contacts; the department is dealing with a serial killer. The victims are all bearing strange, ritualistic sigils. No one knows what they mean or what they are for.
The clock is ticking, the bodies continue to pile up and an old friend receives a strange note with a gruesome message.
Can they stop the killer on time?

As soon as it was done, he left.
He left Dean's body and Dean left the room.
He knew that he couldn't leave Cas like this, shouldn't leave Cas like this, but he couldn't stay, he couldn't look at him, couldn't touch him, couldn't see skin his own hands had left blemished and tainted and torn, couldn't see the angel violated and hurt and broken by his own body.
The door unlocked the moment he had done what he'd come for, had taken and destroyed and left. It flew open, revealing Sam who he knew had been furiously beating against the wood while- while...oh God, he was gonna throw up.
His brother looked shocked at the picture that unfolded in front of his eyes, his features contorted in disbelief and disgust at the crumpled and naked figure in the centre of Dean's mattress.
