After moving to America with nothing but a rusty grasp on the English language, 204 USD, and a pipeline dream of becoming a professional danseur, Yuuri Katsuki wasn’t suprised when everything inevitably went wrong. Five years after he arrived in the so-called “land of dreams” he was not a professional danseur, he was living in a shitty apartment with a constantly leaky shower, and his childhood dog was dead. To make matters worse, he hadn’t visited the poor pooch or his family in ages. All that Yuuri really had going for him was his job as a ballet instructor, but no matter how much he loved doing it, a part-time job alone wouldn’t pay the bills and his looming student debt.
One day, while sobbing in a bathroom after being fired from his second job, Yuuri’s world was turned upside down when a small pup crawled underneath the stall door. Suddenly he was the nanny to a sweet little pup who called him “mama” and said pup’s dad was the most delicious Alpha that Yuuri had ever laid his eyes on. The Omega had been planning on packing up and moving back to Japan, but his new job and his new employer may change his mind.

Summary

But when Viktor is brutally beaten in a horrific homophobic attack, life will be forever altered for the both of them. The road to recovery is hardly guaranteed, and both Yuuri and Viktor will find themselves faced with seemingly insurmountable challenges, not only to their careers as competitive figure skaters, but to their lives together as gay men. Hard truths will be revealed about Viktor's past in homophobic Russia, and Yuuri is forced to deal with the reality that the man who always seemed to him an unbreakable rock of strength and sureness, has been reduced to anything but, and that, perhaps, he never was. Yuuri must find a way to cope with the unfamiliar role of being the one to take care of a now broken and hurting Viktor, while holding on to his own hopes and dreams.

Summary
The white rose is a symbol of Ilmater, a deity of compassion, perseverance, and the easing of pain. He is the patron of the oppressed, the abused, and the tormented. Doctrine of his church may focus on suffering and bloodshed, but ultimately he is a deity in service of living and loving life.
This is likely the source of old wives' tales about roses and vampires. The scent repels them and the petals burn their skin. A rose placed on a vampire, be it on their body or the lid of their coffin, will bind them in place for eternity.
Astarion hates flowers, and he hates the rose inked into the palm of the hand he shakes when he agrees to trade Cazador's severed finger for his head. Astarion hates how there might be some credence to those tales after all, and his prayers have been answered so late.
(This was inspired by the game letting me give my tav the same facial scars as Sebastion, blissfully unaware of what they meant. Once I found out things spiraled from there.)
