Summary
Alphonse and Edward just found out the real ingredient of the Philosopher's Stone. Next, they want to look into what Dr. Marcoh said: something about finding the truth behind the truth.
But rather than going to the Fifth Laboratory straight away, Edward's automail arm could use some repairs. When they stop by East City and an unsuspecting Edward is suddenly called to the Mustang office at the end of a long day, he has no idea what to expect.
Getting accused of stealing is certainly not on the list. Especially considering he wasn't even in East City at the time of the theft.
Will the colonel believe him? Or is there something else at play here?

But Barnes isn't the only one trying to recover after the collapse of Project Insight...
In short: an action/adventure fic with a side of friendship and a generous helping of Bucky trying to sort out the barbed wire in his head.

Summary
Training the Winter Soldier is like training a dog: you don’t just use the carrot and you don’t just use the stick. You need both if you want your training of the soldier to hold.
Rumlow has seen what happens if you don’t. Holy hell, can the soldier be difficult sometimes. He’s seen the him sabotage entire missions simply following instructions to the letter or by misinterpreting them on purpose. That’s mistake number four: not seeing that the soldier is a little shit.

“You!” Hans says, waving his hands as if to encompass all of Henry. “Why are you being so...” Hans clicks his teeth together. The words jumble and flutter in his head: subservient, obedient, coolheaded, patient, forgiving, why did you stick around even when I told you to go?
“Kind,” Hans finally settles on, weakly.

"Terrible news," Ed says into the mattress. He feels Al sit up straighter.
"What, what happened?"
"I still don't know if I had a crush on Ling at sixteen, but I think I got a crush on him now," Ed whines. Al laughs in delight and pats his shoulder sympathetically. "Al, it was horrible. He asked me about, you know, my life and I was like Uhhh and he was like Sounds like you do absolutely no introspection, idiot. Also you need to obsess over things to live. Absolutely unbelievable."
"Wow," Al says. "Did he really say that? That's a little harsh."
"No," Ed admits. "He said it sounded like I hadn't figured out how to want things for myself and that it was okay to do that. Well, he did basically say the thing about obsessing over stuff. And here I am!!"
"Wow," Al says again.
"I know," Ed says. "Devastating."
