Tommy lives with the fallout form a traumatic brain injury in his teens, and navigates a love life, a working life, and a family life that all seems to be massively impacted by that injury - sometimes, it feels like everyone else is more affected than he is, and sometimes it's as though he cannot even see a life outside of his disability. He's sharp, and skilled, but he has his weaknesses and they're exploited once they're found out.

Getting stabbed is no big deal when one takes the proper precautions. It comes to exactly no one's surprise that Tommy does the exact opposite, ignores the injury and keeps on working - until Alfie finds him.

Summary
Born with cerebral palsy, Tommy is central in his family. Protected by his siblings, mothered by his aunt - and treated poorly by his father. When information about the Shelby family history bubbles to the surface, John and Arthur battle against Tommy's lack of rights, trying to ensure dignity and safety. But with outdated views on those who are physically disabled, the Shelby's fear they're losing their kin to a system that is stacked with individuals their father has wronged and who, as such, merely see Tommy as collateral damage.
