That is the question, isn’t it?
But he doesn't know. Peter doesn't know much of anything going on, these days. All he knows for sure is that he must not fall asleep. Or else it'll happen again. And again. And again. And if he's not careful, he won't be waking up to an animal in front of him. Next time, it might be something else. Something with hands that curl and a mouth that speaks.
It won't happen though. Peter won't let that happen.

It’s a myth. It’s a legend. It’s not real. The shadow-cloaked figure stalking Gotham’s streets is an urban tale made up by stoners way too high off their asses for anyone’s good.
But then to-be robberies are stopped. Muggers are left bloody and forgotten in alleyways. Witnesses call in with reports, numbering in the hundreds, then the thousands. Good things happen. Miracles happen. And Gotham’s residents can’t help but think—fuck it—we deserve our own hero too.

And oh, God. Oh, God, he’s hallucinating. He’s hallucinatory and absolutely losing it. Was it that expired oatmeal he had for breakfast? That questionable hot-dog, or several questionable hot-dogs? Or—or—
He lets out a yelp as the dented suit of holy shit Iron Man twitches faintly.
The gleaming red-and-gold is beaten, battered, and filthy, but Peter knows that red from various YouTube compilation videos and his own room decor. So, yeah. Iron Man. Fucking Iron Man.

Life post-apocalypse is normal. It's fine. And Yoo Joonghyuk knows this. He is not suspicious of anything because there is nothing going on. Nor is he looking for trouble because there is none.
But there is one problem.
Lately, Kim Dokja has been acting weird. Like, forgetting what day it is kind of weird. Like, kissing Yoo Joonghyuk on the cheek kind of weird.
Oh, and he's also taken to reading paperback novels. The stupid kinds. The ones about love. This, above all else, raises the most concern.
Yoo Joonghyuk knows that this is not his Dokja. So he investigates, and with Kim Namwoon and Lee Jihye as his collective, conglomerative "Watson", he will surely find out why Kim Dokja just isn't Kim Dokja.
But this isn't him looking for trouble. Seriously.

All he wanted were tangible things. And maybe something more than that.
A clattering erupted, seizing Yoo Joonghyuk’s attention effectively.
A cough. “Would it be such a bother for you to smoke somewhere else?” Teary eyed and wheezing, a pale man glared at Joonghyuk through impossibly long lashes.
Truthfully, he almost dropped his cigarette. Even more truthful, Yoo Joonghyuk had been on the precipice of dropping it and snuffing it out.
“…I don’t see any ‘no smoking’ signs here.” His voice filtered out through two years of consistent smoking. Gravely, with a note of addiction.
The pale man’s nose scrunched in frustration, hinting at disgust. “God, you’re such an asshole. No wonder the kids are afraid of you.”
A/N: I think a lot of people can walk around with a hole in their chests that will eventually be filled with love and stuff. Kdj and Yjh are characters I project this concept onto constantly. I felt like I should write it out.
