Lucifer’s brow arches, already bored. “Meaning anything with a pulse will do. How tediously easy. You’ve handed me a wager wrapped in gift paper, Rosie.”
“No, sire,” she corrects, eyes glittering with genuine amusement. “I mean he is utterly, maddeningly immune to the temptations of the flesh. The man simply does not care.”
A pause.
Lucifer’s pupils slit gold with sudden, predatory interest.
“Ah.”Or: Rosie raves about her favorite pet, the impeccably mannered Radio Demon, who she claims to be above all fleshly temptation; Lucifer, bored to the marrow, wagers he can shatter any sinner’s composure in a single night—and transforms into the perfect bait.
