I (40M) recently went into town to do some grocery shopping. My brother (44M) asked me to bring back some pie. I forgot the pie when I went in the supermarket and didn’t remember he’d asked for some until I was in a nearby vegan bakery I’d been wanting to check out for a while. I didn’t want to drive back to the grocery store just to get him pie and figured I’d just get him a snack at the bakery while I was there. They didn’t have pie, but there were some gluten free kale zucchini carrot banana muffins for sale that looked really tasty, so I just grabbed one of those.

Well, only if you don't look at his biology ever since the radioactive spider bite. And his extensive track record of running away and deaths in his life. And that his foster-dad is Tony Stark. And that his mentors are the Avengers. And the fact that he was randomly kidnapped one morning on his way to school and now he's in an alternate universe with a bunch of different superheroes that keep stalking him.He thinks they mean well, but they're really weird. Besides that Red Hood guy. He's pretty cool.

“I’m not—I was still talking to Ben.” He says with a sniffle, then rubs the back of his red glove across his nose, as if the mask wasn’t there. “I was telling him he’s—he was a good dad.”
May takes a few careful steps closer. “He was pretty good, huh?”

Each step is agony increasing, the thing in his spine trembling ever-harder and then Wade calls his name and he stops, turns, sees those eyes again; pleading, desperate.
A rush of emotion slams into his hindbrain, it feels half foreign and half his own; don't do this can't do this without you please stay please stay stay stay stay let me stay stay stay
"Come home with me," Wade blurts out, and Logan finds that he's taken steps toward Wade without realizing it, closing the yawning gap between them, and the thing in his spine relaxes just a little.
"Okay," he says.
(In which something very interesting happens underneath the Time Ripper, and Wade and Logan deal with the aftermath.)

His reaction seemed a little extreme, since they had literally sliced each other to pieces for, like, a whole day in that Honda Odyssey, among other things; one little stabbing didn’t hurt, really. But Wade supposed it was really more of the principle of the situation — or some other smart, intelligent thing — that was driving Logan to look so utterly miserable with himself.
(Or: Logan has a nightmare, and Wade wakes up with the Wolverine's claws sunk deep into his torso.)

Logan did eventually get swept up in it. Of course he did. It was hard not to, with the way Deadpool ogled and flirted and preened so shamelessly.
But what Logan didn’t realize until it was far too late was that Deadpool did those things with almost everyone. Which meant it signified nothing when he did it with him.
(Or in which Wade's brat attitude comes back to bite him, and Logan accidentally plays extremely hard-to-get. Split POV.)
