Summary
City boy Ed Teach is tired of his life in New York and needs an escape. He drives up to his mother's house in small-town Bennet Bay, Maine, on a whim, hoping some time away from the city will help him clear his head. The last thing he expects to find there is the love of his life in Stede Bonnet, the proprietor of a popular cafe/bookstore nestled in the town's charming main street. But will Ed be brave enough to embrace small-town life and settle down with Stede? Or will the siren call of his life back in the city be too strong to resist?

Summary
Ed sighs and closes his eyes, lets his head thunk gently against the wall of the window seat he’s currently sprawled out in, naked and sweaty as he tries to catch his breath from the crippling orgasm Stede just fucked out of him. Stede’s leaning against the opposite wall, panting lightly as he works to regulate his own breathing. If Ed opened his eyes he’d see a smug little smile on Stede’s handsome face that’s as endearing as it is well-deserved.
~~ Or the one where Ed and Stede have a window seat they love as much as they love each other.

Summary
“Come help me find an apothecary nearby,” Ed calls to Lamp, who’s still laying in front of the door. Ed pulls up the Conjure browser on his phone and searches for apothecaries in his area. There are a dozen or so results that pop up by the time Lamp has reluctantly left his post by the front door and flopped down next to Ed on the couch, pushing his head under Ed’s arm so he can look at the search results.
One of them jumps out immediately: “Stede’s Stupendous Shop of Spellcasting Sundries,” Ed reads aloud. What the fuck is that name? It’s fascinating and hilarious. Ed needs to go there immediately. He looks up reviews for the shop, and they’re either 5 stars or 1 star, nothing in between. He checks one of the 1-star reviews — left by someone supposedly named Calico Jack, which is a weird name — and it starts with, “There’s this angry chicken, right,” and Ed stops reading there because that sounds like the coolest fucking thing he’s ever heard, and he wants to experience it for himself.
~
Stede's a lonely apothecary owner looking for love. Ed's a jaded potions master looking for his place in the world. This is how they find what they're looking for in each other. -

Summary
Ed sighed. No one ever remembered his birthday anymore. June 21st. The wooden floorboards creaked under his feet. He stepped out of his cabin.

Summary
As it happened, Joe was straight; he just happened to be currently girlfriend-less. And just because you were straight didn’t mean you had to be a dick about this stuff. He could absolutely win this game. Nicky was going to be fighting all that Catholic guilt.
(or: the one where they start playing gay chicken and never stop)

Summary
“He has a crush on him,” Joe says around a mouthful of carrots and points his fork at him for emphasis. To someone who once has had Joe’s scimitar rammed through his chest, it’s not exactly a terrifying gesture, but it still feels a tad more aggressive than Nicky thinks the situation warrants.
(In which archaeologists make a discovery, Joe is upset, and Nicky trolls historians.)
