"You mean the stash my officers CONFISCATED because they arrested you for DRUG DEALING?"
"Ehhh... I would prefer it if we didn't use the term 'Drug Dealing.' It is such a negative name for my chosen profession. I would prefer it if you would call me a 'Dealer of Highly Unlawful Goods.'"
Lin crossed her arms and stared at her.
"You're a HUG Dealer."
"Korra nodded eagerly. "Pretty neat huh?"

“Actually Ping,” Korra shrugged. “You guys were my second choice. I originally went to Publishers Clearing House because I thought it would be pretty cool to have guys show up to my house to hand me a giant paycheck after I sold a bunch of books. But when I got there they told me that they ‘don’t actually publish anything’ and it was like 'Whaaaat? Why are you giving people giant paychecks if you don’t do the thing that’s actually in your company name?’ Amirite?” She dropped into the chair and planted her feet on the end of his desk.

Zoey opened her eyes to a familiar face. Mira was in front of her, snoring softly, one arm draped loosely around her waist. She smiled, already sinking back into the warmth of sleep. But as she shifted slightly, she became very aware of another body pressed against her back.
She sat up quickly, freaking out. Rumi was there too. Panic prickled at the edge of her thoughts as fragments from the night before slammed into her. The taste of alcohol and bile rose up her throat. She kissed Rumi, Mira also kissed Rumi. And everything’s fine, she reasoned. They’re laying down together in their bed the next morning, and they all kissed, and it’s fine.
Zoey threw up in the bathroom.

Finally, Zoey blurted it out, voice soft but sharp:
“Have you ever thought of… something besides monogamy?”
Mira’s thumb stilled on the screen. She looked up, slow. “…What?”
Zoey’s hands twisted in her lap. “Like—not open relationships. Just… not just one person. Have you ever thought about being with more than one person and it still being okay?”
She wasn’t looking at Mira. Her voice was tight, like it hurt to speak. Mira watched her with a furrowed brow, still quiet.
“I feel so guilty all the time. Because I love you, Mira. I love you, and this doesn’t change that, but I see her and I want to make her smile and I want her to hold my hand and I think she’s beautiful and weird and sweet and I—”
She finally looked up, tears shining in her eyes.
“I think I ruined us. And I’m so sorry.”
Mira just stared at her. Wide-eyed. Silent.
Zoey’s heart dropped. “Say something.”
Mira exhaled like she’d been holding her breath for a month.
Then she visibly deflated—shoulders dropping, head tilting back against the wall—and let out a quiet, choked laugh.
“…Oh thank god.”
