Wanda turned entangled to face her saviour, “Natasha... what are you doing here?”
Natasha was dressed in a pair of sweats with a tank top. She had clearly been sleeping before finding her. She reached down and pulled the earphones out of her ears, “I think the better question is what are you doing in here? Other than trying to kill yourself.”
Wanda blushed at the older woman, “I just couldn’t sleep, thought a workout might help.”
Natasha relaxed her grip from the girl now they were both standing steady. She crossed her arms across her chest, “why couldn’t you sleep?”
“That’s not your concern Romanoff,” replied Wanda. “Can I have my earphones back now?”
Natasha reluctantly handed them back. “This isn’t normal Wanda; I know you are here most nights. You are training too much, and not eating enough.”
“I don’t need you checking up on me,” Wanda expressed with slight resentment in her tone.

Summary
Civil War was fixed, but that doesn't mean everything is automatically amazing. This story follows a struggle to build trust and friendship between team members, specifically team members with distant, untrusting relationships that were never talked about in the MCU. What happens when Sam, Tony, Wanda, and Scott are forced to ride in a car together for an extended period of time? Issues rise, trust is tested, and everyone learns something new about each other, but things are only further complicated by the fact that Tony doesn't know when to give his body rest and trust his teammates. He doesn't feel like he can drop the mask, but when his teammates offer a hand to help, will he refuse or figure out that more people have his back than he thought?

Wanda Maximoff - 16, traumatized, and grieving - is a newly minted Avenger. Though fluent in English, coming to America is proving to be an entirely different battle than any she has yet experienced. The worst part, though, is not how loud everyone is, or how foul the air smells, or how busy the streets are. The worst part is not the food, or the anxiety, or even the pressure placed on her shoulders to prove herself "reformed and good".
The worst part is that they all - even Clint - see her as nothing more than a broken child. To them, she is a girl not yet grown into adulthood, immature and irresponsible. To them, she is a puppet with her strings cut, unable to stand up on her own without tears or blood. To them, she is a cracked and breaking doll, incapable of strength or resilience.
The worst part is that they think they need to help her heal.
"It'll be good for you," they say when she protests the decision to send her to public school. "You'll make friends," Steve adds. "And you need friends."
Yet there is something darker at play than either Steve or Tony are willing to admit. Something that looms on the horizon, black and sinister...
