He looked nervously back at Will, fiddling with the chain links on the swing with a bright smile on his face that seemed to almost light the world. God, Will wishes that he didn't say yes to Mike that day because maybe he wouldn't be stuck in the situation that he is in right now. Being helplessly in love with his best friend. Will has had enough of this suffering. This was going to be the year that Will Byers gets over Mike Wheeler

After returning from California and settling down in the Wheeler’s house, Will decides that this is the year that he finally gets over Mike. Mike however doesn’t understand why Will is starting to distance himself all of a sudden. Will then meets someone that he deems as the perfect opportunity to get over his childhood crush. All the while, Mike can’t understand why he hates seeing Will with someone else so much.
