No more stalling, no more excuses. Breathe in, breathe out, and pray to all the gods that the next four words don't leave his life in tatters, or end it altogether.

Summary
'Who on earth taught you that?' Arthur narrowed his eyes, noticing the way Merlin suddenly looked more than a little bit shifty. 'I wouldn't think there were many tutors of the classics out in Ealdor.'
'Um...'
It was tragic, really, that every single person in the room knew what that tone of voice meant. It was the one Merlin had used when he'd mentioned being a Dragon Lord, or admitted to offering to trade his life for Arthur's on more than one occasion. It implied that Merlin suspected they wouldn't like the answer.

Summary
With Uther’s death, Arthur ascends to the throne and officially becomes King of Camelot. Naturally, this means that Merlin is now the King’s manservant, not the Prince’s. What sounds like mere semantics turns out to be much more than that. As Merlin struggles to keep up with the demands of his new job, Arthur finds himself burdened by the realities of kingly responsibilities. Soon, the strain of stress puts their friendship to the test...

Summary
Eventually, Arthur had enough. “Come on, Merlin. Whatever it is must be important, and you’re clearly -” Arthur waved his hand impatiently in Merlin’s general direction, “- trying to find the right moment. Well, this is me telling you, this is the right moment. Go ahead.”
Merlin looked to the side. “You’re mistaken, Sire.” Then, half a beat too late for their usual bickering, he added: “As usual.”
“See, Merlin, I don’t think I am.” Arthur leaned back in his chair. “The only question is what it could be, that makes you want to tell me but not want to tell me at the same time.”
Or:
In which Merlin obviously has a secret, and recently crowned King Arthur figures the wrong things out. At least initially. Then, he starts getting frighteningly close to something he, in the end, isn’t sure he wants to know about.
Or:
A story about conversations over a desk.

Summary
Most people imagine magic reveals involve prophecy and drama.
The Knights of the Round Table discover Merlin’s magic through a series of increasingly suspicious “accidents,” and immediately choose to never speak of it again.
Not because they’re noble—
but because they’ve seen what the forest does when Merlin is annoyed.
