Summary
Eddie was possessive of the things- the people - he coveted.
A wild creature of teeth and tongue and nails, leaving bruises and bites along his way so that they could not look upon their skin without remembering him.
Leaving a stain of himself behind, a thin sheen of oil that nothing could ever quite scrub clean from their squeaky clean facades. Bitter on the backs of their tongue.
All that to say, he wasn’t particularly pleased when people touched the things he’d claimed as his.
And Jason Carver had inexplicably become his.

Summary
Eddie’s barely takes a step towards the hallway before Steve’s outline catches his attention. He’s leaning on the kitchen counter, his eyes closed, head tilted upwards, looking every bit as beaten as he did outside.
“Hey, you ok?” Eddie asks, though he already knows the answer. Knows Steve will try to play it off. He walks closer to him.
“She’s not totally wrong. I just…I thought I was, I don’t know, better, I guess. Turns out I’m still just…bullshit.”
