This story is from a prompt I saw on tumbler in which during No One Mourns the Wicked, instead of Glinda telling the Wicked story Morrible and the Wizard have her burned. When Elphaba finds out, she falls apart.
This fic will follow Elphaba’s struggle through madness in a world without Glinda, and Fiyero’s fight to hold Elphaba together and save their relationship. -

Everyday for the last 3 years was the same, it very rarely strayed from the routine. Her therapist had stated a routine, “provides structure and consistency in daily life, which can lead to reduced stress, improved focus, better decision-making, increased feelings of control, and overall enhanced mental and physical well-being” and blah-blah-blah. Elphaba zoned out after a while because it was always the same thing, over and over and over again.
So here she was running as fast as she could down the same path she always took, in the same park she always ran in. Nothing new, nothing strayed from the routine, until…

Freshly divorced Elphaba Thropp takes her son Liir to the hospital after he breaks his arm. Faced with an overbooked hospital and a nonexistent ex, they are placed in a temporary room for the night.
