It’s quiet here. Even if the car alarm on the neighbor’s goddamn BMW has been going off for the past twenty minutes. Quiet, even though the alarm’s got the neighbor’s dog howling like crazy, and the neighbor works second shift and isn’t there to comfort the dumb dog.
It’s quiet…They haven’t spoken to each other since that morning, when Yuri went off to go see his tutor, and Otabek went off to do whatever the hell it was he did in the mornings before he hit the rink.
“You’re used to the noise?”
“Yeah, but…I think I like the quiet too.”

Yuri doesn't like people, and people don't seem to like him, because they always leave eventually. He's sure Otabek will too, eventually, but eventually will come a lot sooner if he finds out Yuri's been pining after him for years. Especially when Otabek's so damn interested in Mila.
His whole body also seems to want to react to each time Otabek says ‘Yura’ in that hoarse, gravelly voice of his. Which is why he can no longer take their video calls in the common rooms of the apartment he shares with Victor and Katsudon.
This also made Katsudon smile, a smile which Yuri pointedly ignores.

A pathetic one, one that loses every last drop of his resolve at that damn honeyed voice and his damn greedy boyfriend with his glistening amber pools for eyes and pink pouty lips and appreciative hands on his body. His threshold for pretending all these things don’t get under every inch of his skin is so stupidly low.
