Summary
Right after the Darkness leaves, when they think the world is finally at peace, angels start dying massively from an unprecedented, deadly, and contagious disease, which they call Angel Black Death, and Heaven is crumbling down, endangering the Earth and the whole world again. The solution they find is "the Brightest Light", which leads to their worst and only plan so far -- reaching out to Michael and Lucifer for help.
What could possibly go wrong?
(Or, in which Castiel needs help, and Dean is desperate to save him. During which they run into so many surprising old faces. All the family and friends are there to help, whatever form they're in. For once, the boys don't have to save the world alone.)

ghost Apocalypse caused by Heaven out of power, post-s13. Slow burn, get together, case fic. Very beautiful, mature writing, very very calm writing tone, emotions oppressed, turbulence beneath the surface, great sexual tension. Eventual happy ending. Just beautiful writing, probably best multi case fic story.

After Sam and Dean are arrested, Castiel is left alone and scrambling to find them. He knows they’re locked away in a government facility, and he’s still able to hear their prayers, but no matter how he tries Castiel can’t seem to track them. He chases leads and even attempts to hunt on his own, but Mary is AWOL, Crowley refuses to help, and Castiel’s options are running out.
Weeks pass, Castiel’s hope dwindles, and through it all Dean prays, keeping them connected. His voice is comforting, frustrating, and occasionally annoying, but in his solitude Castiel comes to cherish it. But then one day, without warning, Dean stops praying, and Castiel is forced to confront some uncomfortable truths about his feelings.

One day Cas says, "Stars died for you, Dean Winchester", against ruffled hair perched atop sun kissed skin and sleepy eyes.
Dean stirs, moving to spread his palms against the contour of Cas’ back, tips of fingers languidly strumming the indentations of his spine. One, two, three, four, he counts, the closest he could get to scientifically studying the anatomy of the human body.
"Is this some physics crap again?" He frowns with eyes closed.
Cas smiles softly. "Far from it."
Dean’s fingers play at the base of his back, ninth thoracic vertebrae, Cas notes.
"Then tell me all about it."

Amazing writing, all the amazingly vivid and acurate use of verbs and nouns and expressions and phrases, so much to learn from. It's beautiful, peaceful, calm, the story is like a peaceful road trip but really all the emotions and feelings and sexual tensions are right there. Even the explicit scenes are the most beautiful I've ever read. Really amazing writing. I'll read it over and over again.
