“As soon as he opened his bedroom’s door, though, he could feel something was off. It took him just a few seconds to realize what it was: usually, even with his lights turned off, his room was never entirely dark because it had a small light on the nightstand, a particular red glow that he had grown ever so used to. Tonight, however, it was hardly there, to the point where his room felt eerily black. His blood went cold and his breathing erratic as he all but ran to the pyro Vision sitting by the side of his bed, desperate to feel some of its heat.”

Summary
If Father were alive today, he would be turning forty five.
It's such a sobering fact that Kaeya has half a mind to down the bottle of dandelion wine that he's holding in his left hand.
In which Kaeya spends the years that Diluc is away coping how he knows best—drinking, infrequent visits to his father's grave, and convincing himself that it really is fine that Diluc is out of Mondstadt and completely unreachable.
Then Diluc returns, and on the night of his estranged brother's 22nd birthday the two almost have a heart to heart.

Summary
As much as Kaeya and Diluc enjoyed fairy tales, Kaeya was starting to suspect Master Crepus quite enjoyed reading these stories to them as well.
There was just something about the convincing way in which he did the voices, and the way his eyes lit up as he read. Whenever they begged him for another story, he found it hard not to oblige, allowing them to stay up well past their bedtime.
Kaeya didn’t know any of the fairy tales in that unfamiliar storybook, but neither Master Crepus nor Diluc seemed to mind if he asked curious questions. If anything, their father always seemed eager to explain.
For that brief moment in time, Kaeya allowed himself to imagine a fairy tale life for himself too.

Or: Crepus reads Diluc and Kaeya a number of fairy tales over the years. When he doesn't like their message, or when the ending isn't a happy one, he rewrites them himself to better suit his sons' needs.
After his death, Kaeya and Diluc wonder if their own story can be rewritten to include a happy ending too.

Summary
Whether Kaeya was well was becoming a secondary concern to actually finding him. Diluc knew that Kaeya would put his silver tongue to good use in keeping himself alive. If that had worked in helping him escape, Kaeya would likely have returned, bearing his grin and demanding free drinks for his excellent service to Mondstadt.

I can't think of a better title.
Kaeya stumbles across a ransom situation but can't bring the Knights into it in any official capacity. Out of options, he turns to the one person he trusts to get the job done. He isn't going to let him do it alone, however, and does everything in his power to help whether Diluc wants it or not.
They have six days to find the girl before their time is up, and their only lead is in Liyue; masquerading as a merchant and their escort, the pair must make it there with a wagon of goods alive, intact, and as quickly as possible. Will they succeed? But most importantly; will they survive each other?
