When Alexei convinces the team to go on a camping trip for some quality bonding time, Bucky and Ava are forced to confront their feelings for each other. Well, they would, if they had any feelings. Bucky definitely doesn't. Because if he does...well, that's a whole can of worms he's not sure he should open.

Summary
After the defeat of the Mad Titan Thanos, the half of the universe that was snapped from existence have now returned. Earth has begun to recover from the devastation, and there's a positive energy unlike anything the planet has seen before as all people come together to heal.
Bucky Barnes, having returned from the Soul Realm, been cured of his brainwashing, and exonerated by the UN, still feels an emptiness inside him as a new era of peace begins. Now that he finally has a chance at a normal life, he doesn't know where to begin or what to do. HYDRA took a piece of the kid from Brooklyn that never really came back.
Ava Starr finally has a chance at normalcy now that her molecular disequilibrium has been cured. But even though she no longer feels the pain, she will never forget what it was like to be torn apart and stitched back together, both in body and soul. SHIELD had made her their weapon. Now she was free, but she still feels as incomplete as when she was fading from existence.
The two ghosts lost themselves for a very long time, both losing a part of themselves in the process. But maybe, just maybe, they can make themselves whole again. Together.

Each had their way of filling the Watchtower with noise: John with his clatter of weights and chatter, Yelena with her biting comments and loud music. Alexei with his booming laughter and forgotten stories of the past, Bob with his soft words and nervous mumbling.
Ava, though? She kept moving like silence made more sense to her. A quiet shadow drifting between rooms, keeping her distance from them most of the time.
And Bucky noticed.
He told himself it was habit. Old instincts flaring to life. He’d learned long ago that patterns revealed people, and he used that knowledge to deal with them.
Still, there was something about her that pulled at him in ways he couldn’t name.

Yelena likes Ava. Ava is efficient. Ava is lethal. Ava does not loudly comment on people’s appearances the way she does when people make stupid assumptions about quantum physics or tea.
Which is why Yelena almost smiles when Ava does exactly that as soon as Yelena clicks to the first slide, and their target’s face - Viktor Kovač - fills the screen.
“...Oh.” She leans forward, indicating extreme interest in what she’s seeing. “Wow. He’s… really handsome.”
The room freezes.
Across the table, John’s eyebrows jump just a fraction as his eyes bounce from the screen to Bucky and back again, then knit together as realization hits.
Because the man on the screen?
Looks distressingly familiar.
But only if one has spent enough time staring at one Sergeant James Buchanan Barnes.

We barely sleep, and the closest thing anyone here gets to a personal life is Yelena trying to emotionally terrorize one of us for her enjoyment.”
Bucky doesn’t say anything. He does watch her carefully, however.
“So,” Ava continues, “I thought perhaps we might… you know. Consider a mutually beneficial arrangement.”
Bucky continues to quietly stare at her. The pieces begin to assemble in his mind, but he refuses to jump to any conclusion just yet.
So he asks, “What arrangement?”
Her expression is maddeningly calm as she elaborates, “I mean us sleeping together.”
