Summary
Shinobu always felt like she was short on time.
Time was running past her, demons were getting stronger, and more people were suffering and dying. So she had no choice but to pick up the pace. She had to pierce her enemies swiftly before they could kill her. She had to analyze poisons quicker than they could deteriorate and kill. She had to train her Tsugukos harder so they would have more time. It’s why she spent a year injecting herself with wisteria. To become the ultimate weapon against the demon that killed her sister, she would gladly sacrifice her time.
And yet, in her last moments, as she felt coldness seep into her skin, her lungs, every vessel of blood in her veins, she wished she had more time.
An AU where Shinobu gets more time.

Summary
It was shocking how out of character Tomioka was being that night. Where was all this before and why was it only coming out now? Maybe she’d been catching him at the wrong timing. Maybe a blood demon art cursed him to only be able to speak a few words a day, so he saved them all for before midnight when the curse reset.
Not that she was complaining. His entertaining her attempts at small talk made her feel oddly happy.

Part deep dive into the lore of the Swordsmith Village and Nichirin blades, part exposition on how the real life swordsmiths turn mountains into katana, this is an unabashedly educational fic with everything from illustrations to vocabulary to help build a deeper appreciation for this aspect of the Kimetsu no Yaiba universe.
But it's also the story of Teppi. He's an eager young swordsmith who admires, but doesn't know a dang thing about his father's masterpieces. He's about to do the back-breaking labor of learning his heritage, from sunny Mt. Youkou to the fiery depths of the workshop. It takes a village to teach a know-nothing, so in addition to his father, Teppi will find himself under the tutelage of a master smelting foreman and under the thumb of the master of the Haganezuka polishing method.

It's just two weak pillars supporting one another. What difference does it make if they get married?
From the perspective of canon, not much. They are so low-key about the relationship that not even all the other Hashira know about it. Giyuu and Shinobu promised one another to prioritize their demon slaying missions, but that locus of priority can make it difficult to navigate their roles as spouses. What happens with their missions is of no real concern to the other, right? Maybe they both need to talk more, before they find bigger things to argue about than fictional baby names.This is the chronological version of my somewhat popular Tumblr-based AU, with doodles showing how this sort of lens through which to view canon either makes everything funnier or much more painful. The doodles will be posted here as relevant, but long-time followers of the AU have lots of new material to look forward to.
