Summary
Tommy’s entire life has been covered in crime tape and decorated with blood from his furthest memories. They tell him that his trauma is a gift—that his empathy should be used to catch the very thing that haunts his blood.
So when the past comes knocking and he’s called to profile a case that hits way too close to home, will his empathy extend beyond that of his gift or will he stay out of it?

“My gold.” Techno spoke, thousands of voices echoing in his words. Whispering and chattering. His calloused hand reaching up, dragging along the blood that was dripping from Tommy’s neck. Dripping down and burning away in the flames consuming the roots that held him.
The same hand that had fed him and given him shelter, as involuntary as it had been, was gently placed at the back of his skull. Techno’s thumb pulling across the golden earring that now felt like an anchor dragging him below the surface of a pool of magma.
Wearing Techno’s face, the Blood God grinned at him.
Tommy did not regret punching him.

Summary
Tommy saw him in a locked park behind a tall metal fence. He moved like water in the middle of song, his arms and torso low to the ground.
It wasn’t classical, it wasn’t clean with pristine well-thought movements. The stranger paused in the middle of the beat, shifted his bare feet into a wide stance before dropping to the ground and rolling back on his shoulder, his legs bowed high in the air. Tommy could point out every mistake in how he raised himself back up, how his legs were out of fourth position, his elbows jutted out in an ungraceful manner, his hands not elongated, fingernails caked in dirt.
But there was something enchanting about how he moved. He followed the wind, his long hair in a plait down his back instead of knotted high on his head. His plait wasn’t even neat, pink strands hung around his face and stuck out at odd angles. There was so much wrong, if his teacher was there, she’d have slammed her cane into the ground and broken his old phone to stop the music.
But… Tommy didn’t move, his feet rooted in place.
When’s the last time he did that?
“Wanna join?”
Or. Tommy is a ballet dancer chasing perfection. Techno dances at night, freedom grazing his fingertips.

Kirishima nods, eagerly, before he irons his face out and plants his distressed puppy eyes. Katsuki wants to kick him. “You’re not very fond of me, are you?”
“Gee, what gave it away?” Katsuki asks, tone flat.
“Why?” Kirishima’s eyebrows are pulled together, and his lips are downcast. “Did I do anything wrong? Back before summer break, I thought we were getting along pretty well, and then you just-”
“Shut up!” Katsuki interrupts. Why the fuck would Kirishima even bring that up? How fucking dare he. How fucking dare he even ask?
“Because you’re an idiot, that’s why. Do I need any more reason?”
“Dude, I’m trying my best here. You don’t always have to be an ass, you know.” Kirishima crosses his arms.
